Wanted to share my Platinum Silver Metallic F30
I think the dark wheels go best with this car but the VMR 801's in anthracite metallic really match this car color well.

Man, what a combo with Platinum Silver Metallic & M-Sport! How did you manage to find that? I thought those options weren't compatible from the factory.

That is a nice looking car and I'm a fan of the color. Looks like he swapped on the M Sport front bumper but did not get the side skirts. So you are right, it wasn't a compatible combo unless one contacts BMW Individual and makes a $pecial request. On mommas mayn!

Yea, that's right - I only replaced the front bumper cover with the m-sport one. I was tempted to get the m-sport side skirts and rear bumper but don't think it will make a ton of difference on the look.

Went ahead and will revive this page since i have a pretty unique 340i which was Platinum Silver metallic from factory, mine has all the options besides cold weather and m sport and track handling. I retrofitted the oem sideskirts and also the front bumper to m sport, for the rear i went ahead and made my own diffuser. there are more pictures on my instagram but i am rocking 437m's

Hey all, found this thread when I was looking for cars and ultimately it helped push past my mild skepticism about the color. Grabbed a 2016 340i in May - one owner dealer maintained Florida car with 48k. ZF8, HK, etc. After looking at a bunch of clapped out M Sports I decided to look for the best car I could find for the money, since I knew I'd be running coilovers anyway most of the M-sport's appeal was irrelevant to me. It's a Florida car and has all the aux radiators which is great for my desired use.
I've always been into car audio and the HK system impressed me immediately for a 'mid range' OE solution but it lacked low range so I added a Musicar custom fit 10" subwoofer enclosure with a Dayton Audio Ultimax / 500 watt NVX amp and DSP (sounds great!). I also added an MMI box for Android auto that really updated the feel of the entire experience. The plan was always mixed use street / track car (without sacrificing creature comforts) so far:
Tires definitely make some noise on the highway but the suspension and tire package completely transformed the car. Tire fitment was tricky but I wanted the most tire I could possibly fit given the weight of the car but it sits nice at on my initial setup based on experience with other platforms on this type of tire. Picking up some track pads for the front axle and hopefully tracking the car at Road Atlanta in July to see what it can do! Planning some brake mods and once I get comfortable tracking the car and figure out some setup stuff I'll go to a stickier 200tw option! |

Msport bumper and rockers done! Haven't decided if I want to do the rear bumper or not but it's tempting with how well the front turned out!
Used the Colorado N5x kit - they had a non-headlight washer version (my car doesn't have them) that others don't seem to offer. Came in a full size bumper box and the quality and fitment were excellent. Body guys said it required minimal prep. Very happy! |
