That's what I thought. I've noticed it takes longer to connect with my iPhone XS versus my old iPhone 7. I'll try your method and see if that works better for me. I have a 6 speed manual.

Anyone else having trouble updating their agent right now?

My agent keeps trying to grab an update from

But it keeps saying it failed since the link goes nowhere. Strange that they are using dropbox to host updates haha.

It was an issue with the third party "installer" program and the file was temporarily removed for updates. They just released v51, which should take care of the auto update and install for the agent. The new app is up for android and pending Apple review for iPhones.

So I've played around with different startup sequences and this is the best I've found.

With car locked and asleep...

Unlock iPhone and browse to the Hotspot Page
Unlock car via remote
Observe the iPhone screen until you see the hotspot connection icon (clock in upper left-hand corner turns blue) as you enter the car
Launch bm3 app
The app should show a connection to the vehicle and vehicle vin
If the app get hung on "connection to OBD agent" then shut down the app and restart

i left a hotspot in the car power by usb cable from avin 10.25 android. same with the wifi agent.. when i turn on the car and open app it connect constantly

Is anyone having a similar issue, once i am connected to the agent and update it via the app it says updating then a minute later says updated completed. Once this happens the agent disconnects from the car and never reconnects. I cannot use it at all as it does the same thing every time. Anyone got any pointers or tips?

Download the .51 IMG file and re-flash the SD card. Happened to me as well and this resolved my issue.

yeah...evidently PTF changed the server location for the firmware file so the update through the app won't work until you flash the latest v51 image which will require removal of the SD card and flash via computer.

So I just flashed my sd card to v51 and everything was fine until it said to update. After the update it lost connection still. The latest update that I know is v52.

Downloaded v51 for both and it's ok!
After v52 app update, the same problem to apply the update to my wifi agent.

V52 they released is solid. If you’re not running that they said you will have an issue with updating it. They also fixed some other things they said. I got the v52 app update too this morning. Its already out for Androids.

Yeah it looks like they were having so much backlash over the v51 update not being able to be pushed through by the agent that they changed again to v52. I believe if you are anything older then v51 that the auto update now will work to update to v52. Time to pull the SD card and flash again.

Last night i was trying to update my raspberry pi wifi agent which i bought from someone here that i never used. I downloaded the latest firmware. Unzipped it to roughly 7 gigs. Then i used the etcher to write it to the SD card. This process happens smoothly. It says writing then it authenticates. It says 100% done and completes. However when i look at the card i dont see the latest firmware there. So i am assuming it didnt work.

I keep getting an error to format the card. I dont think i want to do that. I am guessing that will delete the entire card which i am not sure i want to do?? I think the error comes bc its a Linux files on there??

Should i be seeing the latest firmware on the sd card after etching? Should i format the card?

Etching the card formats it as well, you shouldn't have to do that. After the etching process completes you should be able to connect to it with no issues. Make sure you're using the latest .55 image from the site.

Are you trying to view the Sd card file via a Windows machine? You might not be able to see the files. I know when I plug the SD card into my windows machine it also asks to format the card. Before worrying about viewing files on your windows machine plug the SD card into your agent and see if you can connect.
