Which LSD?
I can't take it anymore, need an LSD. I can't find a MT BMW performance LSD for under $2300, who has the best price.
Also a year ago BMW offered a $1000 rebate on the LSD which I found out after the fact (this should of been biggest news on the forum). Does anyone know if the rebate will be offered again? I'm also looking at Wavetrac, seems like I can get that done for about $1900. I kind of like this option as I never have to worry about clutch packs wearing out. Any other thoughts deciding between the two? |

The AC Schnitzer LSD is made by Drexler Automotive.
https://www.eng.drexler-automotive.com It's also a clutch based LSD. Very good brand! Many in this forum, including myself, went with Quaife. An clutch based LSD does have its advantages over a non clutch based. But for me the Quaife does work very well.

The M Performance LSD is built by Drexler too and is a very high quality piece. Try calling Brian at Sun BMW to see about the best price.
I have a hard time believing you can get a fully assembled Wavetrac LSD in a pumpkin for $1900. I think it would be closer to $3000. |

For the Wavetrac ER was quoting $1200+$700 install, plus a refundable core charge.
I decided to got with the MLSD, got a brand new one off eBay for $1800 shipped. Does it come with oil? It does have a drain plug 1/4 way up the cover I guess I could put my finger in and check. |

I've also heard various recommendations that you must do a change after first 1k miles, some say it's unnecessary. Does anyone know the facts or does it vary by manufacturing date? |
