well I have the same year and model car and I couldn't even connect to the xdelete app. so I didn't drop the 150$ or what ever they charge.

I contacted them and they just told me to read the instructions lol. I had read the instructions and spent 5+ hours in my car trying to get it to connect to no avail.

good luck and if I were you I would ask for a refund.

Only way you can connect is iPhone with an Ethernet cable.......you will not be able to connect any other way.

They support the MHD and thor wifi adapters. I tried both my Vgate wifi and Bluetooth adapters, but neither connects.

If you read the instruction the f series only works with the Ethernet cable. I have the WiFi adapter for my mhd, and I tried it just to see.....only works (as stated) with wired Ethernet to iPhone.

If your car is an early 2013 model like mine the transfer case is on an order older firmware than most f30s. I'm eventually going to update my transfer case and try xDelete again when I have time.

That is very odd. Didn't expect that.

This seems like a lot of overhead just to turn around and disengage said part lol. I have a 13 as well. How do I test without purchasing the license?

Not sure without trying it but after going back and forth with the dev of xdelete for weeks, he still said he would offer a full refund, I just chose to keep trying to get it to work. He was actually very helpful and responsive through email, he just thought my transfer case wasn't coded but I'm assuming that's because he was looking at logs through the app and in fact the app just wasn't reading the older firmware. I'll try and get the transfer case firmware updated either tomorrow or next weekend hopefully and will try xDelete again.

You need to use esys to update firmware.

To make a long story short, after updating my transfer case firmware, xDelete still isn't working. I sent the dev more logs and they responded saying that there's a problem with unlocking my xdrive module and they are currently working on this issue. He also still offered a full refund if I didn't want to wait.

Garage List
I had the error a bunch of times and figured out a solution (that at least works for me)

1. turn off bluetooth so it doesn't auto connect to your car
2. connect phone to obd. open settings and ethernet should pop up right underneath cellular. Open the ethernet setting, wait for an IP address to show up, takes 20ish seconds
3. open xdelete app and connect to your car. configure xdrive and hit flash
4. if the error pops up (it pretty much always does on my first try) then force close the xdelete app. then fully turn off car so the dash lights turn off. single press the start button to turn accesory back on
5. reopen the app, go to configure car again. if the slider is set to the opposite setting of what you are using (i.e. it shows rwd on when it is still in xdrive) then flip it back to xdrive but DON'T hit flash. Flip back to rwd. NOW hit flash
6. If all goes well then it should go through the motions and perform the flash.

I feel like it doesn't fully connect to the xdrive ecu if your car was recently on and you didn't fully turn off the car first. The method I just described has allowed me to flash it quite a few times now and it ALWAYS has an error at least once, so I just fully turn off car, check that the ethernet ip shows up, flip around the awd/rwd sliders once, and then retry the flash

Hope my solution helps at least someone.

It didn't work... I am wondering if the problem doesn't come from my obd cable.

I use this one:

https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B01F8J2E3S/..._ZxauEbWJ0Z3C6

This cable work with the app « bimmercode » but maybe it isn't compatible with the ecu of the xdrive ?

They refunded me not too long ago and told me they were never able to resolve the issue. hopefully someone figures out what's different about ours it's not working on than with everyone else's it is.

You can also send logs over to the devs and email them to see if you're having the same or different issue than me.

Thank you for your reply.

I already send them logs and they told me that it can be the " ZGW " which I think is the ECU of the xdrive that is in boot mode...

They told me to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and try again. It didn't work...

After that they told me that they can redeem my purchase because they don't know what is the problem.

I asked them if there is going to be an update on the app to correct this problem but they don't know why it doesn't work on some cars.

They are reactive to my mail and really try to help me and as soon as they saw that there was a real problem they directly offered me a refund.

I asked them about the cable, i will let you know as soon as I have a reply.

I even told them about the process of « codestar » so they can try it with other user with our same issue.

I just noticed that under " about " you can click on " Execute ZGW test ".

I will inform myself on it and let you know.

I'll keep you informed.

For information I have an early 2013 M135i F20 Xdrive PWC (Pneumatic Waste Gate)
