F30 Sport Gear Selector hard
Hey! I want to change my standard selector and bought a sport selector from Ebay. It arrived today and it’s joystick “jumps” feel really hard. Anyone knows whether it’ll become softer once connected to the car or I should oil it somehow before connecting?

Is it a BMW unit, or something made in China? Is it new or used? But I will say that a new BMW unit on a new car feels the same way it does after 50,000 miles, and you never need to oil it, so its not looking great for your new purchase unfortunately. |

OK it looks like an original BMW item that is less than a year old, it should work fine. If it feels right when its fixed on a table then it should feel the same bolted into the car.
Congratulations on your purchase |

I've finally installed the selector and it feels very soft(even softer then my original - must've been used more then mine). And now mine jumps hard when I try it in my hands. So it looks like the selector must be fixed very good before you can feel it right. )
