Brake Noise

I have some severe brake noise in the morning when it gets down to 50F here in southern Cali. Its not the typical brake dust squeak or worn out pads. Dealership said they can't duplicate it and I still have 7mm left on my pads. This noise sounds between a grind and nails on chalk (not as annoying). Can't really describe it but its always there every single morning. Disappointed dealer couldn't remedy it.

Are you able to work on the car yourself? Is it all four corners or a specific side? I would remove the pads from each affected corner, apply new brake paste on the back of the pads, lube the guide pins and see if it persists.

OEM pads and rotors?

I don't have any experience working on brakes myself. These are OEM pads and rotors. Have about 47k miles on it and haven't changed them once since I got the car CPO at 9k miles.

Noise of that sort is usually caused by insufficient lubrication between the pads and pad carriers, which tends to be more obvious when the parts are cold.

Thanks for the explanation. I think they measured the pads but didn't do anything to remedy the noise, just stated they couldn't duplicate it.. which I explained only happens in the cold morning. Well as long as it's not a safety concern I'm good I guess.
