Coolant leak 335d f31

Hi all,

I've come back from 2000 mile round trip to the alps and noticed my breather hose had disintegrated (i'd fixed it twice already), but I also noticed coolant level was lower than when I left.

I cannot find any sign of fluid or staining. There's some tarnishing of the oil cooler which has a coolant hose sitting on top of it, but other than that I cannot see anything. I've checked the hose running from the larger coolant hose, across the front of the engine bay and into the coolant reservoir, but other than that I am at a loss.

I've had both EGR recalls done.
New water pump about a year ago.

Any ideas or places that I can dig further?

The rigid plastic coolant pipe above the oil cooler can fail. However this failing usually results in rapid coolant loss.

Do you have a low coolant warning? Any coolant in the oil?
The oil cooler gasket can fail too, resulting in either or both the oil and coolant leaking.

If that ever happens to me I’m going to buy a new reservoir cap and see if that fixes it as a first attempt. Assuming nothing else obvious of course.

no warnings and no coolant in oil from what I can see.

I'll look at the cooler gasket and see if there is any loss. I'll clean it all off and see what happens over the week.
