Which LED module should I be buying?

I'm having a lot of heat shutdown issues with my right headlight (adaptive led icons) which I retrofitted onto my pre-lci car. Cooling them down with some spirited driving soon brings them back online within a few minutes, however if you let them sit and cook with the engine off they don't (this is how I confirmed it to be a heat issue).

Although the car is reporting the left modules cutting out it is actually the right headlight. The left headlight stays working and fully functional where as the right looses power when one of the modules crashes out (I presume this is an ecu counter measure).

So my question is can somebody confirm which main module I should be purchasing?

The ETK shows three different part numbers, they also vary in price..

I have replaced the DRL led modules and I am still having issues so my next step is to try a new main ballast module. I also read somewhere that they'll need re-coding, is this true?

*Update - think I've found a totally different part number for adaptive led headlights: 8494843

Now I'm even more confused lol, hopefully someone can clarify

Looks like I'm answering myself here lol.. unscrewed the module slightly which was a total PITA whilst attached to the car.

"63117492027" which apparently doesn't exist according to BMW, yet the module has all branding and markings inscribed onto it.

Hi,

I am searching for modules with the same BMW part number (63117492027), did you manage to find an alternative compatible part?

It is a mine field!

Cheers

Yeah there's a bunch going around, I had to dig deep with an ex bmw tech who managed to work it out for me. Apparently the part codes aren't super important providing they show as compatible, what is important however is matching the HWEL code.. mine was 2FE1 so I was told to look for another or 2B8F, which is a much newer manufactured module.

I managed to pickup a brand new/sealed 2B8F module, encoded the FLE and brought the other sides module up to date too. It's been running perfectly fine since.
