Painting Costs

Hi, I got a set of M sport side skirts for my sport line 440i. One shop quoted me 12 hours of labor to paint them. Seemed a bit excessive just wondering if anyone has had this done and what did it run?

12 hours might include drying time.

And the time between closing the shop at night and reopening next morning!

Yeah, I figured as much. I will not be scheduling with them any time soon!

I figure prep would take a half hour, painting an hour, rubbing out another hour. What would be time consuming is the cure time between painting and rubbing out, at least a day, but you shouldn't be paying for that. For what it seems that they want to charge you could buy your own paint rig, including a compressor and buffer.
