I have purchased almost all parts needed, some wires and connectors coming in few days and that's it. Any progress in DIY project? Any updates?

I too find myself in the situation of being devoid of the light pack and would like to mount these new lights, together with the a/c radio light

gizmo1908, could you turn the e-mail to me too?
I haven't been able to go on with this DIY for months

Am still waiting email for the DIY,, he email'd me said he is close to the finish but very busy.

I have done AC trim retrofitted by myself. I bought AC trim cover in BMW for 45€ and cables and connectors for around 15€, made a Y cable, connected to the car, and everything is working, and it's OEM. In total i have paid around 60€ for the AC trim.
I have saw on AlliExpress, you can buy AC trim cover for 50€ with cables and everything, plug and play, but i wanted it to be OEM so didn't bought that.

Oh well, in that case i can't help you. Mine has ash tray LED and it was very easy, straight forward.

Maybe because my car is M Sport, and every M Sport has that LED i think, also every m sport bmw has classic/sport ambient lightning option in the iDrive.

Which package your car has? Luxury, Modern, Sport?

You are in the same boat as me. I had absolutely no lines at all.

You can make it work like i did but it will be a little harder.

If you want to power the ac light you need to add 2 wires to the diy from the front base light to the centre console and use that to power the ac panel. If you want it i can tell you exactly how

Check out this video. Its my car. From no line at all to full light package. Changing colors and dimming via idrive. Also doorlights work

Can you make a picture if your FEM?

If you have FEM that has ZB6 writing on it. If so just power it from fem.

Yo, this is an old topic but i got to find answe because i'm clueless and nobody answers me who had retrofitted these not even Ace320 who posts his retrofit guide everywhere but doesn't help others that ask for help, my question is very simple actually. I did this retrofit front and rear but they don't work as they should which makes me annoyed, so when i turn on the car just one button press they work fine but now, once i lock the car lights go out when i unlock it doesn't go full white like it should and then dim... They light up dim and then when i open te door one map light lights up the drivers seat, after i close the door it stays like that while it should go back to dim. Then when i go out of the car that doesn't work anymore it stays dim, after i lock the car it stays lit until the car goes to sleep... I really don't know what causes this because this is only when ignition is off, once turned on all those features work and sometimes when it's stuck and i press lock again it lights up bright white but stays like that. FEM version is from 2014 and everything works from light package except that dome light and i'm out of ideas i checked the wiring 3 times, could it be the K-lin cable since that is what (i suppose) controls the lights to let it know when doors are opened, or does the wire 58g x56*1v have connection issues because thats a secondairy power source i think or not?

Help would really be appericated!
