These comments do not apply to Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP tires which I have on my 335d. There is no tramlining with the Michelins. However, your comments most certainly describe the behaviour of Bridgestone RE050A tires that I had on my previous 335iC. They are dreadful tires that BMW still supplies for many E9X.

I have used the Michelin RFTs and I do agree that they're the best RFTs out there...but still, it doesn't handle like reg. tires and they're still bouncy like other RFTs

If you have driven reg. PS2 and compare it with PS2 RFTs....the reg. PS2 handles alot better.
Bridgestone RFTs are the worst of all

Switched to non run flats, bought the bav auto spare tire and the bmw tool kit. Fits nicely in the trunk and I haven't had any reason to miss the small amount of space it takes up. It would be nice for an actual storage place for the tire though.

Its already gone in all the cars that came out in the last few years.

Get over it.

Um, I think you can still get space saver spare in Lexus. How about Mercedes Benz?

I should have been clearer. The space for the spare is already gone from all the BMWs release in the past few years.

Also, just because Lexus is continuing to live in the past doesn't mean BMW should (atleast to me).

RFTs are probably going to be the only option for F10 and I am glad for it. I don't want a smaller trunk or a heavy spare or some toy mobility kit and neither does my wife. For the few people who care for non-RFTs, its should be an option (as it is now)--buy non-RFTs and carry a spare

It is not a matter of living in the past, it is just a matter of what your priorities are. That is why RFT should be optional.

Run-flats are great for convenience - I can admit that. Where performance is concerned they are a compromise. Harsh ride quality is another disadvantage. I can only guess that you don't have to drive on bad roads and cover long distances.

RFT work for multiple punctures too

The problem with non-RFT and either a spare tyre or a can of goo is what you do if you have a second puncture / blowout.

Any cyclist will tell you that if you pick up a flat, the chances are you'll pick up another quickly.

At least if you have RFT, you can still continue your journey.

Like some of the others have said, the pilot sport ps2 or whatever its called is a very good rft, i like them alot more than the damn bridgestones. Better treadwear, grip, less noise, only downside is the price but i'll survive.

I got an early 2006 e90 and those tires were crap. I switched to non RF tires and the car improved in all areas. I have a new f10 and the Goodyear RF and they are very good.

Pic of how you store the stuff? I'd like to see the spare tire setup.
