I like that!

With the more purposeful looks though it seems a shame there isn't something a little beefier than the 1.5 petrol working alongside the electric motor.

Nice, the standard wheels are the biggest let down on the car. Love the second from last pic

Nice stance and CF but to me those wheels just look wrong in that car!

I've never liked ACS wheels but those are verging on acceptable and better than the OEM ones.

Wooooow!

How wide are the wheels? The standard ones are ridiculously narrow, so I wonder how much space BMW left in the arches?

+1 on liking that.

In regards to the 1.5 lump. I drove one recently and before driving it thought to myself the same thing about the engine.

Let me tell you my friend that 0-60 it will hold it's own against M4's. It also feels like a proper fast car.

This is just the start of this technology. In five or so years from now I can see theese cars having sub 2.5 second 0-60 times, complimented by 200mph+ top speeds.

BMW calls it a super sportcar.

However journalist told that it can be beaten by a strong diesel on the Autobahn on a long way as on the motorway it simply runs out of power! ( 'thanks " to the features of the electric engine)

It's unique anyway, ACS has done well too.

Here's a thought Lorcan...... can you remap an electric car?

Or will you guys go out of business (tuning-wise) in about 10 years time?

The i8 has a 1.5l turbo engine from the Mini so surely that could be tuned?

Yup,I was on the Bmw hybrid training and was told they're already putting together an i8 with 2.0 turbo and more powerful electric motors for output in the region of 550hp.

Not according to the technical guys doing the course, they say that feedback from potential and current owners said they wanted a more powerful version so Bmw are doing it apparently.
