Xhp 3 comfort v sport

So I had my xhp stage 3 yesterday and although I have barely run it in yet it already seems much better. I will save the review until I have covered some miles and can give an in depth description.
M question for now is that on my car comfort and sport are exactly the same, I can’t see/feel any difference what so ever. I have I clicked the option in the idrive that keeps the transmission unaffected by switching from comfort to sport. Would this be the only difference meaning I must have it set up so when switching into sport the transmission goes into S.
