Very weird transmission squeak after xhp?
340i zf8 Mods
-Xhp flash -Mhd flash -dinan cf cold air intake -vrsf catless dp -bms billet wheel spacers -approx 40k miles. -if im missing anything lmk New to the forums so take it easy, bub Essentially i flashed it to medium burbles Leave exhaust flap always open Xhp flash straight to stage 3 (im stupid yes) .) Any gear to any gear only in sport and sport plus i can hear a very weird squeak between gear changes. All i can get on videos is engine noise and exhaust sound. Very very bad sound that hurts my heart every time. Ik that the "lifetime" tranny fluid is recommended to be changed about now just curious if i fucked up my clutch and its slipping and if so what kind of bill am i looking at.

You're most likely hearing belt squeak. I had my belt and belt tensioner replaced under warranty and it went away for a couple months then came back. I just live with it now.

I hear the same thing on occasion, usually when the engine is colder. Once its warmer, the sound goes away. But it does sound disconcerting at first. I read some threads that said this was normal, but I also read elsewhere that its a belt and can be bad. Never got an answer and the dealership never was able to replicate.

It's an issue BMW could not fix yet. I has been regognized and invertigated on. It comes from the side with the aircon on. BMW tried to fix it with a diffente version of the aircon compressor with a different clutch and the with a different tentioner, then with a different belt. Everything helped... for a short time.
