i-Drive issues and rattles... grr!

So you all know that I picked up my 440i on Friday.

Installed Apple Carplay FSC codes from wibbles, no issues - carplay works fine. Then I installed Deezer as the car has booked online entertainment.. this is great! Everything working absolutely perfectly until yesterday afternoon when the i-Drive nav went a bit crazy.

You know when you touch the top of the pad you get a circle coming up on screen saying "save current position"? Well this kept happening without me selecting any input. FFS

I rebooted the i-Drive by a long press on the volume knob and that seemed to sort it, but only temporarily. It happened again half an hour later so I rebooted again. I'm minded to go in and disable the touchpad input to see if that sorts it?

Anyone else have anything similar happen?

Issue two is an annoying rattle where the passenger window meets the small rear window, when the windows are completely closed. When I open the window a fraction, the rattle disappears. When I wiggle the closed passenger window with the door open, I'm almost positive I can hear a noise that might cause a rattle. The driver's side doesn't do this!

Grr. I hate rattles.

Why the hell did you buy a convertible then? Never known one from any brand including upto Merc SL which didn't shake and rattle!

(PS this is tongue in cheek, your car is stunning. Apart from being grey. No need for that! )

Hah! My 330d Vert didn't rattle at all! I'm sure BMW will sort it...

Edit and my Merc SL had the worst scuttle shake I have ever seen in a convertible. It was fine with the roof up, but put it down and the whole thing flexed and wobbled like a slinky spring....

I have used Dupont Krytox for both of my convertibles, excellent stuff for lubricating, little bit expensive but lasts long as you don't need it much.

My 430d 2016 era doesn't rattle at all, whereas my previous 2012 320d has dreadful scuttle shake which the dealer dismissed with the classic 'they all do that'.

i-drive issue sorted. Took a video of the i-drive screen and its antics. He immediately diagnosed it as a faulty screen, but suggested I clean it slightly first with mild detergent.

Problem sorted. The screen thought it was being touched when it wasn't!
