Does Dealer Notice DP?
Thinking of getting a DP to pair with the MP Flash. I was wondering if the dealer notices DPs when they service? Isn't the DP mostly concealed? I don't want to risk losing the warranty, and also don't want to remove a DP prior to service.

Of course they're gonna notice lol. My SA and shop foreman are cool and don't really care, but they mentioned my 5" DP.

I just got my DP installed today. I've come to terms with the idea that I'll have to do my own services and pay an independent shop for the stuff I can't do. Worth it.

They’ll hear it before they see it.

They will notice most likely. I have mine done and still take my car in for regular maintenance stuff. They also just replaced my AC compressor and radiator under warranty as well. As long as the part doesn't affect the repair you should be fine.

I've taken my car in with a full straight pipe exhaust from turbo back. Never had any warranty issues, just comments about how loud the start up is or how good it sounds. It's good to build a relationship with your service advisor and make sure they are ok with it, but most of the time they do not care about mods if they aren't related to work they're performing. If your turbo fails and you have a catless downpipe, they might try to blame the downpipe for the failure just cause it's directly attached to the turbo.

They will notice the dp. However the problem arises when you bring it in for repair. They will flag your car. So remove all mods and clear all logs if you need to bring it in for a repair other than oil change.

What if you put downpipe on leased car and take in for service and they flag car? Will there be issues if you turn in to BMW when lease is up? I would hate to buy a used Car someone modified and raced around in

I had a leased 335 that I had put a DP on. Took it in for maintenance a couple times with it on. Then right before turn in I had DP removed. No issues on turn in.
