Strut Bar

Can someone recommend if to fit or not and which one ?

I do like to throw my bimmer in corner sometimes and have itchy hands for inexpensive mods

Got one from Bimmian for my 335xd. Tightens up the front end a bit.

This. The front suspension turrets are braced back to the bulkhead.

A strut brace, turret to turret, may make some improvement but I think it'd be negligible.

If you want sharper handling I recommend having the front suspension bushes removed and fit SuperPro poly bushes, plus a full geometry setup.

I would recommend the the anti roll bar be upgraded. I swapped my rear one out for the M140i version and it has helped the car feel more balanced.

I'd recommend all of the above, and I may have a very nice strut brace for sale shortly!

From experience I can say with stock suspension it does make a difference - albeit not a huge one as say the ACS springs or rear arb but on a cost basis worth it.

I have an OBX brace. Solid, one piece unit with perfect fitment. Would definitely recommend.

I got mine on eBay for $120ish. Looks like they are sold out.

I would scoop this one if I needed one today. These guys make a whole set of bars for our car. One piece design also.

Make them an offer and see what kind of response you get.

I'm looking for one for a B58 F30. Do they make one as of yet?

Engine shouldn’t make a major difference as long as the clearance is there. Not sure if the engine is any taller than the 35d engine.

On Mine one of the legs touched the engine cover and caused vibrations. Placed some pads underneath and job done.

Give Bimmian a shout.

Then I doubt there’s any point fitting a strut bar to the already stiff top end when the bottom end has those ridiculously soft springs, plus the pathetically thin ARB’s.

That’s why i mentioned the engine, for clearance reasons. But yeah man I’ll give them a shout, thanks

There are many for the B58
but I prefer the single piece steel
and so Ultra racing has one

Not necessarily to the ride but tower to tower closes the truss with the two bars attached to the firewall
it makes the most flexible part of the chassis that much more rigid
if anything for longevity of chassis & the tower areas which are under alot of stress form the macpherson

I sent him a link to that exact bar 24hrs ago (for a great price too)... I think he's going to keep asking until he gets the answer he wants, which seems to be "there's a special bar for your special engine."

I dont think hes getting the fact that the body/chassis hasnt changed since the F30 was introduced in 2012.

I agree - one piece bar is the way to go, thats what I have as well.

Edit: Ive cross referenced the part numbers on Turner Motorsport and confirmed they are selling the same part numbers for all F30's regardless of engine therefore I dont believe clearance is going to be an issue. Might be the best bet to buy from them or a similar parts distributor in the event you have an issue so that you dont have to deal with returning overseas.

And... I just got a response from Ultra Racing stating that there bar fits as well.

I think we can safely say that the common bars on the market will fit all F30's regardless of year or engine.

When I was looking all the bar descriptions kept saying N20 which is why I was asking. But if they confirmed then thats legit, thanks.

I'm not so sure about that ... that bar goes right in front of that little engine. I don't think that space is anywhere near as open with the larger B58 in place.
