Justinnum1, you have very kindly and patiently answered many questions on how you resolved your wheel vibration issue. If you are willing, perhaps the forum gods would create a sticky for a write-up on what you did. A lot of forum visitors would find this helpful.
Again, you have been a great resource. Kudos. |

Yea, i would be shocked if the 335 i am getting doesn't have this issue. My whole thinking was it would be a lot easier to forget about it in a 335msport with performance exhaust at the same price per month i am paying for my 328.
When the new car comes i will have the shop forman take it for a spin so that he can do any balancing or whatever. THe shop forman at my dealer is a real nice guy. Anyways, for what we pay for these cars we should be happy with them. Hopefully bmw can find a fix soon(they are aware of the issue) but it seems like its a hardware issue and not software. Some people say they dont have the problem, tho i wonder if i drove there car could i replicate the issue. i just dont see how some cars have it and others dont. 328s have it 335s have it , 17's 18's 19s have it, pirelis, goodyears, contis, bridgestons have it...its and epidemic!

Given there are fewer reports of the issue with 335s I can only guess the additional weight on the front offsets the induced harmonic resonance, whatever its source. |

Picked up my 2013 328i M-Sport this week at the performance center. Running on 18" Square Goodyear Efficient Grip ROFs. No hint of vibration. I drove from Spartanburg, SC through the high country and back over toward the coast up to D.C. Rolled over tons of newly paved roads. At times the ride smooth at all speeds.

I have been holding off on commenting about my car since the first part of my ownership was during ED. Now that I have been living with it back in the States I can say that I also do NOT have this issue. My car is a Sport with the M Adaptive and Variable Sport Steering and Continental tires.

I expect there is fewer, but is the differential really this great and you have data or are you simply guessing as to the production ratio? I'm not critical, merely curious.

I have heard of about 5-7 cases of steering wheel vibration on the 335. there are a lot more 328s on the road than 335's. probably like 8 to 1 328s to 335s.

Of all the 3's I've driven so far, 2 328i's had it, and none of the 335i's. One 328i was a dealer lot car, and it had a slight vibe. But, I couldn't really feel it when holding the wheel properly. When I lightened up on the grip and just floated my hands over it, the wheel did have a slight left to right shimmy. The other 328i was a recent loaner, base model. It exhibited the same behavior as the one above. I'm hoping my Msport will be ready on Monday. Another Chicago area member's Msport was on the same boat as mine. He picked up his 335i Msport today. He hasn't posted yet, as I'm sure he spent the day driving. I'm hoping we were on the same truck transport, but maybe not. My CA hasn't emailed me back since Thursday, and he's very great about that. I think he may be out for a few days, and likely wants to be the person to deliver it. My 335i Msport is the first one they ordered, and will be the first one they deliver. Yes, I feel a wee bit special. |

It's close. My dealer says they get about 10 to 1 allocation 328s to 335s each month.

How many people experiencing this issue are first time BMW owners?
Bear in mind folks that there may be different causes as a few people in this thread seem to be describing different problems. There are still a few things I would like to see tried - lower control arm from the e90 and a proper four wheel alignment. Although I don't have the issue on my car, I am going to get a proper alignment and install e90 M3 lower control arms (for some added negative camber in front). |

wow, this is still an issue?!
if it's any consolation, we were probably the first people to trade out of our vibrating F30...we got into a 2013 X3 xDrive28 and experience the same thing. :-\

We also just had a e90 replaced with an F25(x3 2.8). I cant believe the same steering wheel vibration. that tells me its the steering box.

I think I also have this problem with my steering wheel. Seeing that this is an 11+ page thread, I'd just like to ask if anyone knew how to resolve this? I'm sort of a newbie and don't really know my way thru the forums yet.
