KhanArt's Black Sapphire///Coral Red F30 335i M Sport Journal
Hey guys about a year ago I picked up a pretty clean Black Sapphire on Coral Red F30 335i M Sport fully loaded with the premium, technology, cold weather, and M Sport packages. This is going to be the primarily the daily for my wife, but I will have it a few days during the week. I also have a E46 M3 which is my baby. I am active with the E46 M3 crowd but figured I start being more active on here as well.
Car was pretty much everything I was looking for. She wanted a Xdrive but I preferred the rwd so it worked out better for me It had to be a M Sport and the interior had to be something that popped other than black. The car is stock other than black front grilles, saved me from having to do that later. Only the rear window is tinted. I plan to finish tinting the remaining windows but not too dark. It also has the front lip. Later in the future I plan on getting F80 M3 18 inch wheels and possibly a M performance exhaust. I may also possibly do the IND front are rear painted reflectors. That will be it for the mods... I think. The car needs a paint correction as it seems the PO took the car to machine washes. I also will need to change the oil and filters since I start fresh on maintenance on all my cars. I've been extremely busy but hope to get her tinted and some maintenance plus paint correction done as soon as I get a chance. This won't be that exciting of a journal but I like to document everything. Below are some cell phone shots of the car. Better pictures will come when I have a chance too. Thanks! The interior might be my most favorite part of the car That Recaro car seat for the baby tho First mods ///M starter kit It's a M but not really (M keychain, valve stem caps, and plate frame)

Window Tint and Paint Correction
Some more updates on the F30 335i M Sport. Had the windows tinted 35% all around, not too dark. Also did a single step paint correction. I was able to do the entire car in half a day. The new Rupes BigFoot 21 Mark II drastically cuts correcting time compared to my previous DA. I forgot to mention I am a detailing nut. One cell phone shot for now until I take proper pictures. I still haven't taken any decent pictures of the car. Hopefully can take some soon showing the interior, tint, and paint. Up next is a oil change and air filter if needed. Also wheel spacers to continue with the OEM plus look.

I will have more updates, trying to catch up as this is not the current state of the car. Thank you! Yea without it the car is still great but the red seats just give it that wow factor imo.

So after a few months of ownership the rear driverside window started acting up. It would not go up/down automatically. It would only inch up at a time while holding the button and not releasing it. Not sure if this had anything to do with having the windows tinted but decided to take her in to BMW.
To my surprise when I was at the dealer I found out BMW is covering maintenance until 50k miles. They had the oil/filter, air filter, cabin filter, rear rotors and pads, full inspection, and both rear driver side window motors replaced. All covered by BMW. So I guess I will have to wait until this service period is over to begin maintenance myself.

Same car here as well including all options, HK as well--except for the lip my car looks identical including the 35% tint all around. Waiting to see how the wheel spacers look.

Looks great! My twin as well except mine is a 328i.
Is this xdrive? Suspension set up looks alot higher than mine. I need to do a paint correction as well. Did you do the whole car with the Bigfoot 21? How do you get into the smaller areas? Finally, I see you are using some of Larry's products. What do you think of his sealer/skin product? Thanks! |

I have the Rupes LHR75 mini too but I don't think I got that until after I did this correction. So to answer your question I did as much as I could with the 21. Lol probably why I bought the mini soon after. Now the i bird is next on my list. I used to detail on the side before but don't have the time anymore. Yeah I'm a fan of Larry. I have Brute, Spit, Hydrate, and Reflex. I like to mix and match so for sealants I have Wolfgang Deep Gloss, Menzerna PowerLock, and CarPro Hydro 2 Lite. When I run out of the Wolfgang and Menzerna I'll probably stick with CarPro but who knows. Haven't used Skin to review. |

Rupes i Bird is a very small polisher. It can be run on battery too. I have the 21 Mark II and the 75 mini. The i Bird would complete the last missing piece for all those very small areas that even the 75 can't fit in. Honestly you can get decent results even with a Griot's Garage 6 inch. That was what I started with. It requires time and the right techniques. But these nicer tools and products cuts down on the time for sure. Tell me about it regarding time... I used to do some cars on the side when I had just one kid and I thought that was very difficult. Now that I have 2 little kids I can't do any side jobs. I don't even have time to do my own. I bought a minivan 5 months ago and it still hasn't been touched, swirl nightmare. Only way I can get to doing it now is taking time off work or doing a little here and there until I am done.

Thank you, I do too.. never gets old.
Thank you. I really haven't seen anything that does it for me on this car yet other than F80 M3 wheels. I still need to go through the wheel thread and internet and see if I like something. As for now F80 M3 wheels are a possibility.
