If you use E-Sys 3.27.1, not newer, and FA is Active, and ECU (not CAFD) is highlighted, it should work.

What's latest available PSdZData? I had an issue with a car today. Recently had Instrument Cluster replaced at agent under warranty, and they updated the car. I used PSdZData 63.3 and most things were able to be coded again except I couldn't get into ICM or KOMBI. Also, one option in FEM wasn't available. FLC_AKTIV (only in drop down was "Nicht_Aktiv")

How do I know what I-Step requires what version of PSdZData version? I have 63.4 showing I-Step F020-17-11-530 while the car in question has I-Step F020-17-11-540 and a few modules are unable to find cafd file and some options are trimmed as I had mentioned previously FLC_AKTIV has only (Nicht_Aktiv), I tried to change the Werte value, but didn't work. Also, tried to VO code it with option 521, nothing worked.

That is because it was programmed with ISTA+ 63.3, not ISTA/P 63.4 where PSdZdata was pulled, and there are differences in CAFD files. So try 63.3 ISTA+ version. PM sent.

Anyone know if there are any worthwhile updates in the latest F32 ISTEP? (vs 2015)?

Same answer as last time you asked in another thread last week.

Yes.

Will also be yes if you ask in 3rd thread next week.

Obviously your answer of just "yes" didn't really answer my question, hence I went over to the Coding sub-forum for further insight.

Since you had experience updating ISTEP -- can you tell me/us what specific benefits you had by updating?
"Things are continually tweaked to be better." -- also not very helpful in deciding whether updating actually has any tangible benefit.

Interested in this.... Had the latest 3 series as a courtesy car this week and the nav directions on the dash seemed a bit nicer... Just wondering if updating the dash would give me the same?

As for your problem, it has nothing to do with what you think. 58.x PSdZData requires E-Sys 3.27.1 or higher. You obviously used lower version, which is why you received "maybe the parameter is too old" error. So, downgrading PSdZData version to one compatible with your E-Sys version eliminated the problem, but instead of downgrading PSdZData version, you should have upgraded your E-Sys version.
Dear Shawn, Hi

I want to do a DME upgrade for my X3, F25, 2012 (VIN:L904823) in order to enable applying the Bootmod3 flashing platform. My current I-Step version is "F025-16-11-501" (Ship. & Target). I would like to ask your kind assistance in order to flash it so please reply my following questions:

1. I have E-SYS Launcher Premium (free) which is dedicated to my VIN on my laptop with E-Net cable, is it possible to flash the DME with it?

2. What is the best version of E-SYS Launcher Pemium (free) and full PSDZDATA you suggest for doing this?

3. How will be the detailed process for flashing my DME? Do I need to flash ZGW as well (before DME
)?

Regards,
Mahdi

For flashing you don‘t a launcher.
Launcher is only important for FDL coding.
For flashing you can start E-Sys direct without Launcher.

1) Flash with E-Sys Direct, no E-Sys Launcher.
2) E-Sys 3.27.1. E-Sys Launcher version is irrelevant as it is not used.
3) You can see the ECU Dependencies when you create Flash TAL. That said I initially ignore the dependencies and flash only target ECU, then only if I have issues do I go back and flash other ECU's identified as dependent. With DME, you most likely need to also flash EGS.

Dear sirs,

I try to retrofit light/rain/solar/fog sensor (RLSBS) to my F30 2014 to enable automatic lights on. I bought new RLSBS sensor with light/rain etc functions but when I try to code it using ESYS, I have very big problem.

FLC_AKTIV in FEM_BODY has only "Nicht_Aktiv" option.

This is my first retrofit with coding, so maybe you could help me to solve this problem? I read that someone in this thread also had such problem, but I did not find any solution for this.

Your help would be appreciated!

If you have "nicht_aktiv" to choose from you also must have "aktiv".
But i would prefer to VO code this retrofit.
Therefore you have to insert the "521" to your VO and code the FEM and Kombi.
Then automatically all relevant codings will be set automatically.

This is the problem, that when I click the edit option at FLC_AKTIV in FEM_BODY, a drop-down list appears, but only "nicht_aktiv" is available for selection

Do you think that using VO will add the "aktiv" option to this FLC_AKTIV parameter? I wanted to make the coding myself step by step instead of through VO, to be sure that all options are correctly entered.

Maybe someone of you met before with the lack of the "aktiv" option at one of the parameters and knows how to solve this problem? The content of this thread shows information about flashing the ECU or the use of another version of ISTA / P or PSdZdata in the absence of the "aktiv" option in FLC_AKTIV. I do not know how much it can help.

If someone is able to explain it in some way - please write what I should give (what parameter) from ESYS and PSdZata used by me to be able to determine whether it is eg software fault.

I will post some photos of my Esys working with versions it shows:

From VCM menu I read such information:

And from Expert mode - Coding, when I try to code FLC_AKTIV:

I tried to "detect CAF with SVM"

FLC_AKTIV is not being mapped correctly in E-Sys Launcher PREMIUM. The correct parameters are :

gesperrt
freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A
freigeschaltet_in_Stellung_A_und_0

The Dropdown box selection is irrelevant. It is only a tool for selecting the Werte Value, which is all that matters. So, try setting Werte Value to 02 directly.
