Lightbulb VLAND Tail Lights Discussion

Thinking of doing the VLAND smoked tail lights, but I have some questions.

1. I have a USA car in Europe currently, with no orange blinkers. If I install the VLAND lights that do have orange blinkers, are they just plug&play, or do I need to code?

2. My model is '13 F30, so I'm not sure if my tail lights are LED or not? Again, I probably need to change something in coding when installing VLAND's?

3. How complex is this install? I've watched a few videos from KIES etc., and it doesn't look THAT hard..

4. How do I wire the long brake light at the top to light up with the new VLAND's? All tutorials seem to skip this step.

5. Anyone had any issues after months or years?

This is the product: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Vland-Tai...ct_top?ie=UTF8

As a curious last note, my wing mirror indicators light up in a different timing with my original rear lights. Is it supposed to?

--
EDIT:

Got mine put in (Smoked V2). Took 5 hours with one break..

Right side went smoothly, no issues there. Left side, I immediately saw the fitment wasn't right. Whereas the right side, the boot light dropped snugly in, on the left side, it was elevated and did not budge. Actually took some real sweat and effort from both me and my wife to finally get it in. Not sure what the issue was, but at least it's in and no gaps.

They look really good, would buy if someone is still on the edge.

I'll answer myself below.

1. No coding needed.

2. LED conversion to avoid errors.

3. Can be complex, depending on your specific fitment you got. Varies from 40 minutes to literal hours.

4. No need to touch the back windshield brake light.

What problems did you encounter? I'm about to install VLAND's this week.

Wiring harness is a bit much, have yet to fully install my trunk liner as the amount had the inner left pop out. Have to re adjust that.
Left inner light I had issues as you REALLY got to push down and in to get the slot clip in (you'll see it)
Used my stock light to get a feel for how it should sit
Trimmed down the extreme foam near that clip

There awesome and dead easy to install

The blinkers are orange and they are just plug and play, boot lights are just lead running down boot strut into main unit.

The main unit is tight to fit , put end in and give it a good push , literally took 45 mins to fully install

I did it with my wife, she checked the other side, I checked the other. Some of the wires had to be adjusted on the fly, but it finally went in. It's not perfect, but good enough. There is a small gap on the right side on the liner. Didn't take pics unfortunately.

i think he meant to ask you to post pics of your car with the tail lights, not the installation pic

Haha, could be.

Excuse the dirt. Need to take new pictures when it's nicer out and I've washed it.

its annoying at first, but I've done it like 10+ times, remove tails, remove trunk liner, etc, watch a youtube video. For the coding since its pre lci get bimmercode and code the tail lights to the "led conversion"

I'm in the process of documenting the car fully, since it's an Active Hybrid 3 and there's not many around. Recently bought a camera and will post a POV drive and outside video when it's a bit greener outside (a few weeks I reckon). I will then post the link here.

nice, how do you like your smoked GTS? why pick smoked over the red GTS? if you would do it again, would you still pick smoked over red?

I just hate the color red, as simple as that. I find that red accents such as tail lights just look ugly to me. I would definitely do it again. Not many cars in Finland driving around with black/smoked tail lights.
