Cracked Headlight Lens
Hello all,
I’ve been involved in a minor RTC and my LED headlight has cracked. It appears to be repairable and I’m after any reputable companies that can repair this for me. I’ve been quoted £380 to get the lens replaced and £500 for a used headlight. Any recommendations are welcomed … I am half tempted to do this myself 😅 |

Looks like you have damage to the headlight housing and not just the lens, I’d go for a used assembly (new if insurance is paying though). You can probably buy one without all of the modules and swap over the ones from your headlight to save some more money too. Looks like you have some other damage too that needs to be repaired, if you’re claiming on insurance and you’ve met your deductible might be worth claiming the headlight as well. I don’t know how your insurance works, but some would pay out the estimate to you to fix if you do it yourself instead of a shop, so you could always buy two upgraded used lights instead of one new one, for example. YMMV though

Paint pen mark every fitting top and bottom side of the headlight before you remove it, otherwise you'll never get the same fitment again.
The F3x cars have potentially the worst mounting design I've ever come across.. so many gap adjustments to make which all affect the beam alignment. Porsche for example just slide in and out on a rail. As for the lens, you've got internal damage.. if somebody is going to do a repair you'll need a new housing which are pretty easy to come by these days, aliexpress sellers make both the housing and lenses to a high quality, they even have the same mould cast marks. The trouble will be sourcing new internals, no business will sell them, you'll be buying more crash damaged parts to replace them. With all that stress, money and effort you may as well buy a used light and if the lens is bad just have some replace with a new £60 one.
