Hey Scott, thanks for the update. Any word on the 1/43 F10 M5 release dates? I was at Goodwood earlier this month, where the 1M could be found last year in 1/43 scale before it was available elsewhere, and the folks at the BMW exhibit didn't have any info on the release of the M5 other than the already out 1/18. |

I've got a 1/18 scale in silverstone - - but haven't seen a 1/43 at bmw-shop.com, dealerships or on Ebay Worldwide so I'm guessing it hasn't been released. |

Here is a few questions i am not able to answer myself...
Will the 4 series be a better 3 series than the 3 series itself ? Does the model rename induce the 4 series to be a better car than the 3 series ? or will the 4 series become a better car than the 3 series because it's no longer called the 3 coupe? Whatever the intention BMW had with this "logical" realignment of naming... Will you guys continue to think of the 4 series to be still a 3 series in coupe version ? Personally, i am having a lot of trouble i know it's just a name, but 3 is just mythic... and the coupe gave it a lot more prestige and desirability... Now that the coupe has gone on to acquire a new name and new identity... it's like Paul McCartney leaving the Beatles... will the 3 series become just another sedan in the ocean pool of upcoming koreans, and ever changing identity-less japanese 4 doors... ?? There is no doubt in my mind the brand new chapter for the new 3 series coupe >>> 4 series has a bright shining future .... i see already! I am just sad that our desirability for the 3 will be moved to the 4, leaving the 3 for Camry owners who have upgraded their rides.... tears....

I will just call it the F82M but I do hope they badge it M3 regardless of badging the non-M F82 4-series

am seriously considering a 4 series coupe too. am hoping they make it really sleek as the f30 imo looks a bit frumpy. though im probably gonna remove the model designation badge. |

IMO there is no reason to get upset because of the name change.
The M3 will remain as sedan while the 4-series (that's what they should have called it from the beginning) will be the M4 Coupe. It makes more sense and it does not sound weird at all. Forget about tradition and so on. People will talk about the M4 in 30 years just like we do now about the M3. They won't forget the M3 coupe, in contrast, that beautiful car will always be the father of all M-cars in everyone's mind. This step will even make the M3 more legendary while possibly creating another legend - the M4. |

EVERYONE CALM DOWN. What if they named the 4series because maybe its no longer it the sports sedan/coupe it used to be. Maybe they are going back to drawing boards and going back to the enthusiasts which want a proper M3. E30, E36, E46,(E90/E92)... Its a weird pattern that every other generation they go full balls out with their engineering. E30,E46. The last of the "M"ness of the 3 series after that the E90 has gotten bigger and softer, dont even get me started on the F30. So bigger car losing the 3series ness its too big to be a 3 so why not just call it a 4 and maybe in a year or two release a true M3.

1:43?
Is it going to be 1:43 version? I notice they don't make the new M5 in 1:43, which is pretty disappointed. I hope some other companies may consider to make that because M5 is a very nice model.
