Leave the badge on, it's a top of the range model, it's only ever the 316i single exhaust brigade you see remove the badge, like they are ashamed of it or are trying to hide something. If you like debadging so much why not take the BMW roundels off as well while you're at it

Each to their own I suppose,,

If you like em keep em, if not the lose them,,

Why worry about anyone else,,

Same can be said for "clownage" on other posts regarding ///M badges,,

The car is littered with ///M on door sills, gear stick, steering wheel, alloy wheels etc,, so if someone wants to have a bodywork ///m badge then what's the issue ?

Would not think adding an ///M3 badge would be ok,

But I do think there are a lot of "sheep" who follow the first to criticise,,

there was a post on here a few months ago where someone had asked the dealer to put a 316 badge onto their 330!

That is slightly mental

I've got the F30 330d on order and wondered about this too. Would removing the 330d badge make the car less likely to be stolen, since has been suggested above they are normally removed on the lower spec cars?

Is the 330d a single or dual exhaust?

This was one of the main reasons I debadged mine as a 335d will be too desirable for the wrong sort.

The 330d has twin pipes and debadged will look identical to a 325d or 335d.

i like both looks, either badged or de-badged, have often thought about de-badging my previous cars.
to me it's just a personal aesthetic issue.
i think the lighter coloured cars with contrasting black grilles and exhausts ect...look better without the chrome badges.

i do find it hilarious that some people with high power models seem to get quite upset that,
one £50 diffuser, and £200 twin pipe or sports exhaust later,
and you can have your 'normal' powered model looking, and even sounding, indistinguishable from a car costing thousands of pounds more

that makes perfect financial sense to me...
as i'm not into 'street racing' my F30 against every boy racer in a type R or Focus ST on the UK's busy and dangerous enough roads.
a 320d or 320i is more than fast enough for my motoring needs....

I took my 330 badge off as its not symmetric on the boot and to me looks odd. I did however leave the little m sport badges on the sides. I quite like them but thats just me.

I've seen it both ways. In the 70's I had a Jeep CJ5 with a V8 but no badging. Other drivers were quite surprised when I took off once the light turned green. On the other hand, I have a friend who has added false badges to his last two vehicles and pretended that the cars were more special than they were.

I like to keep a low profile because I visit customer sites and also park the car in some dubious locations. So I've chosen Mineral Grey/Black Dakota and de-badged my 330d.

Not happy :-(
When i picked mine up from the dealership, the first thing i noticed it was not de- badge as ordered.
No problem Sir. It was off in seconds, with a bit of fishing line or dental floss. Not a mark left once removed.

Decided to debadge. Dealer said they will remove them once it arrives and give them to me should I want to put them back on.

I'll leave them msport badges on though.

This sounds like a perfect solution to me. I'll ask them when I order

No badges for me (335ix MSport), but when they hear it they know..thinking about adding the black 335 badge to match the black wheels, grill and exhaust

Debadged for me. The stealth approach will be worth it If anyone thinks I've got a 316 they're going to be very unpleasantly surprised.

Also, it's just so much easier to clean the car without the badges on but that makes me sound old

Debadged camp for me also. As an obsessive cleaner, it gets in the way and gathers muck. I've never taken it off my existing car as I don't want to run the risk of damage. I could only afford a 6 month old 320d at the time, so it's what most people expect anyway.

However, the next will be debadged, especially if I get the 330d I want. It will be grey again and unassuming. So, why shout about the shove it's got.

I obey residential speed limits rigidly, so often get tailgated. It's nice to pick up speed suitably once the limit rises... It would be extra nice if that acceleration was wholly unexpected...

Why don't you do this:

Ask the dealer a few days before the car is delivered that you have decided that you want it de-badged but its too late because it's left the factory - ask them to do it (it's simple to take off in the dealership / bodyshop and causes no damage as it's a mild heating process I understand) but specify that you only want the xDrive badge taken off, leave the 335d badge on.

Problem solved

J
My dealer debadged my F20 months after I bought it. I sent it to get cleaned and he offered if I wanted it debadged. So it's not too late, don't worry! Plus it was free as if I got it from the factory!!

Consider the resale value. I was going to de-badge but I may end up owning and then selling it. It was pointed out to me that some buyers don't like de-badged cars - it smacks to some of a dodgy history.

Then buy some new badges come resale time - they cost next to nothing
