Dinan Shockware flash lost after service?
Had my 2016 228i serviced today. Ride feels softer now. Concerned that they flashed something and overwrote the Shockware suspension flash I've had for three years. Is this possibly or likely? Is there any way to check (I have a coding cable)? Does Dinan keep any records that it was done? Would they redo it for free? Maybe I'm imagining but...

Should be on your invoice whether they flashed any updates.
This is why whenever I have to bring my car in for service, I tell them under no circumstances should they do any updates to the car... I haven't owned a BMW yet that absolutely req'd a flash update from the dealer for anything important/serious - I believe in the old adage 'If it ain't broke - don't fix it'

This is an old post, but OP, yes that is 100% possible. I had taken my E90 in several years ago for service (to the dealership that had loaded the Dinan Stage 2 tune when I bought it), and they erased the Dinan S2 during the update.
Drive home was sad and lethargic in comparison, and they reloaded it for free. They were a Dinan authorized shop at the time though. Those purchases are registered against your VIN to Dinan as well. |

Happened to me after a steering rack replacement, they said they had to flash the (adaptive) suspension module as well which is understandable...cost me $50 for a shockware redo at an indy.
