+1 same issue here after the second time I flashed with BM3. (B58). First DME/Unlock and flash to MPPK didn't trigger the error. Second flash to Stage 1/93 caused the error. Was unable to get rid of it through conventional methods (cluster reset button) or a reflash. I have it into BMW service for a different issue and they're going to look into what the problem is. Seems like a significant bug.

NO! BMW is going to update sw and you will have to bench unlock. This is easily solved by contacting PTF customer service

I’m going through this right now with PTF however my symptoms are a much worse evolution of the issue. I bought a used 2018 530i, transferred my bm3 license, flashed the 93 octane stage 1 tune and experienced the oil reset issue. I contacted PTF and they asked me to redownload the map and reflash. This resolved the oil reset impossible issue however introduced a slew of trouble codes, the most alarming of which is a drivetrain malfunction which renders the car undeliverable because as it turns out the car disables the transmission shifter with the drivetrain malfunction trouble code. So far I’ve had a 2 hour session with PTF in which they couldn’t figure it out. I have a second remote session on Friday (4/16) which I hope turns out to be fruitful. If it’s fixed Friday I will have gone 5 days unable to drive my car I feel disheartened because I love the car and the way it drives with the bm3 flash, however as of today I’ve owned it for 5 days and 3 of which I’ve been in able to enjoy it. They’ve also asked me to purchase a 20+ amp battery charger which I’ve done, it’s likely good to have anyway. I’ll report back after the Friday session, I really hope they’re able to resolve this.

PTF solved the issue within 20 minutes in the second coding session. My faith in the company has been restored!

FWIW, The simple fix that worked for me (suggested by PTF) was to click Download, Flash Later. Then Flash after it has downloaded. Any bugs beyond that are a separate issue, but I have been downloading maps before installing them and have not the "- - til oil change" bug again.

Hello,

I have the same issue. PTF workaround did not work (Download, flasher later, then flash). The CBS reset does not work in ISTA P+. I am on a OTS Stage 1 Map. I am waiting for an answer from PTF.

Anybody has a another workaround? E-sys?

I have the same issue after flash back to stock tune and lock DME.

Started with the same issue described in the first post. I contacted PTF support and they tried to solve the issue but no luck at all yet.

Now the issue seems to be a bit different. Now I have a red warning saying “Past oil service date. Please contact your dealer asap..” something like that and there is a negative count of kms (saying it was past over -40kms right now).

So, my question is, once PTF solved the issue to you guys, did you have to do an oil service reset?

I can see that now I’m able to do the oil reset with bimmerlink (I was not able before when the warning was different). Bimmerlink says oil change “Due November 2024 or -40kms” So the date is right but not the kms, because I only run about 8000kms after the last oil service (and I have 30K kms intervals). The service counter is also wrong because it’s showing value 1 and it should be 2.

Do you know if I could recover this situation? Or should I do an oil service reset al lose the current count? I think PTF is a bit lose with my particular case…

Thanks in advance!
