You got ID4 which requires non-touch screen. I ran into this same problem on my 2016 f48. Realoem.com stated the touch screen was exchangeable with the non-touch, so when I went for the 6.5 to 8.8 upgrade, i got the touch only to get the 'no signal' error. I know the code went through because when I re-connected the 6.5, all i got was a black screen until I re-coded the 6.5 back in. In the end, i got the non-touch screen 8.8 & worked right away when I coded in the change. The touch screen is apix2 while your HU is apix & simply won't work (no signal). You'll need to either upgrade the HU or just get the non-touch screen. |

Part of screen is dark
Hi there
Installed today 6550 9292248 (pre-LCI screen) to my HU_ENTRYNAV and coded DISPLAY_VARIANTE + DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION but got this issue - right round part of screen is black, only during loading of HU it shows connected drive on the center of screen so I can be sure screen works fine. Maybe there is additional coding required? |

Seems to fix the issue if coded in with bimmercode. |

realoem.com - enter in your vin and browse to the nav/audio section and see what part number would've came fitted from factory for the bigger screen.

What is the minimum requirement for an OEM touch screen as far as head units? ID5 with coding, and ID6 plug and play? On my 2012 F30, I replaced my CIC Entry HU (6-pin) and 6.5" no Nav with an NBT HU and an F15 10.25" CID, but would like to have a touch screen even if 8.8". The Andoid 10.25" has too much light reflection. |

I recently did the swap. Have a 2016 LCI F30. Installed a PRE-LCI screen. Coded the two lines, and nothing. I can hear music and make calls but screen is black. I’m thinking it has something to do with the back up camera I added from Carnaviplayer.com. Any help is much appreciated!!

Original is 9270393040 6.5” The 8.8 I just installed came from a 2014 335i I call myself making sure the coding is right and it seems to be. I will look at the cables this weekend. I’m also wondering if the aftermarket back up camera purchased from carnaviplayer has something to do with it not working as well. When I bought it, the manufacturer specifically asked what size the screen was. |

Also, usually you will get a "no signal" on the screen and not a black screen if all your power/pins are correct. That's what makes me suspect the cable or connections not seated. Check what power if any you have at the red cable going to the screen (use a ground). Should be around 8.4V. Look up the pin-out of the new screen and make sure that the power-pin is the same location as the one on the old 6.5" screen. The screen size should not matter, as long as you have an NBT HU. Even my CIC HU with a 6.5" screen would work with an 8.8" screen as far as coding. The problem with coding comes at the 10.25 size on the CIC HU, because it does not have that option. However, using the 8.8" resolution is the same with the 10.25" screen. What was your coding exactly? |

HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480. HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display I’m not too mechanically inclined with electrical stuff so I’m a little nervous to start unplugging things. For now I’m just putting 6.5 back in until I have more time. But removing the camera will probably be next. |

6.5 works just fine. Didn't swap anything besides the screens. I'll try to remove the camera, but I'm really starting to think that it's the programming that they put in the camera module box. When I originally put the 6.5 back in, it had the same blank screen. Then, I swapped it back to schmales and it loaded right up.

Your coding seems ok. My guess is still that the NBT HU's OEM screen cable is not being compatible with the "old" (possibly CIC) screen. The proper cable should fix it, or swap pin orientation on the existing (after voltage confirmation). I would go for getting a cable on Ebay or Aliexpress. Even if it doesn't work you can still modify this cable instead of messing with your factory cable. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1X-61129261...-127632-2357-0

The half black screen happened also to me. The solution is restore the HU to fabric settings and then code with Esys instead of BimmerCode.
This solution for me worked. |
