What is the part number for MPE for 340i specifically?
I don't want/need the full MPPSK just MPE will do.
Apparently 340i version of MPE has no valve so I want to make sure I get the right part number

Not a lot of people like the M-performance exhaust (suitcase) and i rolled the dice and paired it with my CG 5" catted down-pipe and it sounds real good.

I can't quite digest MPPSK for 3K when MPE and a tune is 1/2

It's a back end flash that goes with the JB4 so everything is tweaked around the DME... it'll be worth the wait so you will need a JB4.

The part linked above is just a muffler. Is that really all the MPE side of the MPPSK is? I thought it was new piping all the way back.

I want to retain the valve, so have been leaning towards the MPE. But, they want to sell it as the package with the tune, which I would be erasing and do not want.

So far the plan is: MPE (I thought this was a full exhaust, not just the muffler?) or the $$ akrapovic exhaust, wagner catted downpipe, flash tune, and jb4 for the various hacks.

MPE is just a muffler and it doesn't have the oem valve its completely eliminated it comes with a resistor plug that goes into the oem muffler valve pigtail to prevent a soft code. The MPPSK (M Performance power and sound kit) is the one that includes the mid pipe and includes a flash through the oem.

I want the full exhaust of half it but don't want to waste money on the tune that will be erased... I wasn't able to find anyone selling just the exhaust before.

I had MPE on my 335 and MPPSK on my 340i. MPE is just an axle back. The MPPSK is different piping from cat back. The stock piping on 340 is narrower and includes mufflers/resonators before the back muffler. The MPPSK piping has no resonators along the mid pipe so the exhaust is straight through when the valves are open (Sport, Sport +, DTC). The sound is much louder and fuller than MPE with pronounced burble due to the programming in of controlled misfire. Here's a diagram with all the installation parts, but the kit itself is just one part number. They don't sell an MPPSK exhaust separately.

If you don't care about warranty and a downpipe is legal in your area, why not just get full cat back from another source and combine with a flash tune?

I nice cat back would do, but i like the remus and its $1700. Thats quite a lot from the $600 MPE i had on my 335.

I would get a MPE if i could on the 340, but from what i read here, it doesnt fit? or ?

i think for the $1700 id rather get a set of OEM 437's with tires

Yeah I looked again and I can't seem to find anyone selling just that exhaust out of the MPPSK. It's a dealer installed + tune period, it doesn't seem possible to just get that part.

To me, the "MPE" muffler above is not an _exhaust. It's a muffler. A 1k one at that.

I'd like to get the full akrapovic turbo back setup, but just had major expenses at home .. so 3k for a piece of pipe isn't happening this month.

So just to get some more burbles and crackles what would you recommend as a muffler with stop piping.
F30 exhaust prices are unjustified. A nice muffler shouldn't be more than 500-600 bucks.
