Scaffolding falls on my f30 328 HELP

My car suffered damages today when a piece of scaffold flew off and hit my car the weather today was very windy and I知 sure the scaffolding company didn稚 properly secure it. I already spoke to their company and I have emailed them pictures of the damages and they said someone will get back to me . I知 wondering if anybody has had experience in this before I知 assuming they will cover all damages. But I知 wondering if I would be able to have repairs done at Bmw Manhattan or would they only offer me a certain number of shops they deal with. Also the damages look pretty bad especially on the roof. Deep scratches all over the hood also smh

I'd do a collision shop that specializes in BMW's. In terms of them "choosing" I don't think they have much say lol. They destroyed your car & have no right to tell you how to work it out. The best they can do is ask you to get a bunch of estimates and they pay you outright for it.

File an insurance claim, they'll deal with the scaffolding company.

I doubt that a construction company is going to have a list of auto body shops. Car damage would be a rarity. Don稚 know if your insurance company would want to get involved.

If you have collision and comprehensive coverage, call your insurance company. They should let you get your repairs started and it's their job to figure out how to collect. That's what you pay them for.

You wouldn't be dealing with them, have your insurance go after them.

Do not make any sort of agreement with them at all.

+1

To contact your insurance and let them deal with the scaffolding company... I'm not spending my time talking to a representative for a company who probably will give me the run around.

NYC is a mecca of butcher bodyshops. Cab companies, constructions companies, everyone knows the shadiest back alley shop to save them money.

I ran the 1st BMW certified shop in the country which was in NJ and also worked for a certified shop in Long Island.
DO NOT allow them to suggest or request you go to "their" shop. To be perfectly safe, don't even let your insurance company suggest where to go!
Do your homework. I think BMW Manhattan farms their work out but I cant recall. My friend is a salesman there if you need a contact. Otherwise, Ill make a suggestion. It may seem silly but call Joe or John at Martino Auto Concepts in Glen Cove Long Island.
You can search their shop on ANY BMW forum and they are well known. They will come out to the city and flatbed the car for you too.....message me if you need help

I’m with just about everyone else here...

Call your insurance company and let them deal with all the aggravation. You have already paid for this privilege, so use it.

Your insurance should be able to handle this problems. OP you should start looking for a good repair shop locally.
