It's as low as it goes in the rear with the isolators still installed. The front can go much lower. I prefer a 1-2 finger gap all around. The ride itself is great, much better than the stock springs I had prior.

I think it sits on the minimum setting (highest). I like it... it's the coilover that I'm considering or just go eibach/ koniSA combo. comfort is my priority and I only want a drop between 0.5" to 1"

I'm not in a hurry... I'll do just that when my stock start leaking or reach 60k miles.

i too am looking into suspension but def in no rush.

there is a dude on the forums (also drives a GC) who has that setup (red koni with the eibachs) he seems to like it a lot. this is def the more affordable option vs

...........KW, BC, or Bilstein (all three have various options which makes it more confusing to decide which to go with *sigh*). my desires are to bridge that disgusting gaping hole, but still be high enough to clear the potholes...etc etc. comfort is also a big factor. i dont want to ride around in discomfort. I certainly am NOT going to push the car to its limits and i dont plan on tracking it either. Having said that im not sure if coil overs might be overkill for me.

it actually sits very nicely... MAYBE half an inch more? but that brings you into dangerous territory. In terms of being able to clear potholes or even rubbing ur fenders and wheels.

how long have you had this setup?

Not sure. I got them on Craigslist for $500 with tires. They are 18" 8" et30. I know what you are saying about 19s. 19snare amazing vs rolling on 20s like I had on my f80 ZCP. Boston roads are just about as bad as they are in NY.

Yup... I might take his word for it.. for me it's a suspension replacement when the stock leaks or reach 60k... if I can get half an inch drop that do it for me

I'll tell ya my .02. I've had a few cars lowered using springs/shocks and the best ride by far is the KW street comfort. I'm also able to adjust dampening for more comfort if I want. If you care about daily comfort it's worth the extra money to upgrade.

I made a thread about it. To summarize it was raining cats/dogs at night, couldn’t see very well, came upon several cars stopped in the middle of the road which forced me to stop, in the middle of a flood. No water entered the cabin but the engine gave up the ghost. No aftermarket intake. Plus, to add insult to injury, I just had the TC/guides done by dealer at NC. Back to square one!

I need to take some more pics, but here he is. My Christmas present to myself last month. The only changes I've made since I got him are OEM gloss black kidney grills, knockoff LED M door projectors, and a couple of minor settings on BimmerCode

I believe this is the item I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2pcs-Car-Do...sAAOSwReJdcxzE

It comes with 2 pieces for less than $12. It looks like he also has a 4-piece set, which I didn't realize until just now, for about 2 bucks more.

A word of caution though: I ordered the first set and it turned out great; no complaints at all. So I ordered another set for the rear doors, and one of the pins on the little adapter piece was bent. I straightened it out carefully but when I went to plug it in, it just snapped off. I did get a refund and did not have to send the item back, but can't really complain too much for the price! Seems like it could have just been a one-off case, but you get what you pay for!
