E30 or E85

So I am now trying to get bm3. I want to do the E30 tune but if I want to go to E85 in the future would it be better just to do E85 or what’s really better to do fuel wise. I live in Florida E85 is hard to come by but I do have a racetrac near me that has an E85 pump so it’s not an issue. I’m new to this and not too sure what direction to go to next

Which model f3x do you have? Depending on which engine you’d need to upgrade your fueling to run full e85. E30 is fine on all. Also is it going to be through an ots tune or custom?

You’ll be fine without upgrading fueling, but I would recommend against going full e85 if you’re planning on upgrading since it might damages lines, injectors, etc. emphasis on might. I’ve seen people run full e85 no problems and others have problems on stock fueling.

IMO, go with e30 or e50 if you’re really set on running Ethanol. It is more of a hassle measuring out the mixes but safer.

No, I meant to get an e30 or e50 mix you would need to mix full e85 with 93 pump gas. You can use an e85 calculator to get the mix you want, but keep in mind e85 fuel is almost never 100% e85 it’s mostly around 60-70% e85, so take that into account. You can buy an ethanol tester for cheap to test the % of ethanol in your pump. Then plug all the values into your calculator to know how much to e85 to pump and how much 93.

If you daily the car you’d be doing this quite a bit since your mpg would go down = more trips to the pumps

An easy way to do this would be to install an ethanol content reader in your car.
