Coding on F34 - Success

I took the leap and decided to start coding my F34. It was a success and I have already changed a couple of things. Most items seem to be similar to what is available on the standard f30.

So far I have:

-Removed nag screen on startup (love this)
-Removed warning on backup camera
-Close hatch from button on drivers side
-Close hatch from fob
-Unlock all doors when pressing the stop button.

I plan to do more, but these are the things that bothered me the most.

When programming the hatch you'll get a warning that the spoiler has malfunctioned. This will go away after you restart the car. When I removed the nag screens it also wiped out my 8 preset buttons, I just need to re-program them.

I gotta have my coding done in the next couple of weeks. There are just some things that are bothering me, like the hatch not closing with the fob, and mirrors not folding when locking.

Mirrors are next on my list as well. I'd be glad to help out any way I can. I did a ton of reading before jumping into this. You can really screw up your car if you hit the wrong button.

I'm having it done for me for that very reason. I did my Audi because it was easy and I had all the info in front of me. BMW isn't, so I always have them done for me. Smithe90 does it for locals, so he can do mine.

Helpful hint before you code HU_NBT:
I have my profile saved to a USB. After I code anything in HU_NBT I just import the file back and all my settings are restored.

Hi. Do you have to have the professional Nav installed to do all these or can it be done on a F34 that has Business Nav??

Could you send me Mike's details please.

What lock button from the hatch?
You can code them to fold when using the fob to lock the car.

I was referring to this button. I've coded the fob to fold the mirrors but sometimes it's irritating to find the mirros left unfolded when I lock my 3GT using this button.

The normal brake force display lights up a second series of brake lights when you brake hard. In the flash mode, instead of just lighting up they flash on and off rapidly. Both are designed to attract the attention of drivers following, the flash is very effective in my opinion.

I don't have that button on my car. I can't tell from your picture where it's located on your car, but I know I have nothing like it on mine. If it's a view of the bottom of your open tailgate the only button I have there is to close it, no lock button.

Oh thats a really neat idea. Mind sharing the name of the option for both that and 'unlock on press stop button'

My coding was done in 2012 and again in 2014.
I had the coding done on 2 cars on the same day, by Mike Benvo. He had to do some wizardry on my M3 when I was living in Europe and when I brought it back the friendly dealer updated some stuff and undid all the coding so Mike gave me a big discount if I coded the F34 at the same time. He calls the unlock on pressing stop "Comfort Exit" and the flashing on braking "brake force display" says that it come on when ABS is activated.
Mike is a supporting member here. His website is bpmsport.com, but I reached him through this board.

I’ve just done some coding like digital Speedo on dash (pointless with hud lol) and for some reason I get an M550d logo on startup!

Also I’ve changed the screen to display the bmw Christmas animation but it never shows up...do I need to restart I drive or something like that?

+1. You can't code in a feature with software if there's no hardware to support it.

The Canadian version was equipped for it and the original code simply said "deactivated".
