Same thoughts here... IMHO there's a fair bit of over styling with those multiple scoop layers, maybe it's just on the concept show car... they may tone that down on production.

its a safety regulation thing. I think all euro cars are required to have it now.

Looks stunning! my e92 now feels old >.<

I question two things though: Are those door handles gonna be in production and are we really gonna keep rectangular exhausts? Im skeptical on those two things...

You and the cupholders...

There is a cover. Kind of like the E53 X5 had. It covers the cupholders with a little key tray.

It's because of the new European pedestrian safety regulations. Take a look at any car sold in the EU designed in the last couple years. They all have much more upright grill treatment than one would expect. The Mercedes CLS is another example.

Is the car in the above thread supposed to be the same model as the concept?

Not really. It's a concept, so many of the highlights will get toned down when it goes into production, and will look more like your F30, but with a coupe body.
You make it sound like the car will change significantly. Which it won't. Judging by recent BMW concepts the production models always end up being >90% the same. Yea the bumpers and mirrors will change otherwise it'll be the same virtually.

Here's an example.

Compare this (concept pics): http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/t...html#mediaID-0
http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433369

to this (production pics): http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...e/default.aspx

Same thing with the M5 concept to production version.
Yup, this ain't a concept I'm looking forward to. Space ship bumpers and super car gills seems more for merc or Lexus. Hope you are right on this one.

Yeah, at first I really didn't like the way they separated the kidney grills from the hood...but after a while, it has kind of grown on me.
