Mid Pipe/Res Delete/Catted Downpipe

Hi everyone,

I apologise for what might be a stupid question. I currently have the M performance exhaust, BM3 Stage 1 tune and a res delete on my F30. However, I still want a bit more noise.

Here's the question: Is a res delete pretty much the same as getting mid pipes installed? If not, would getting mid pipes increase the noise/improve the sound?

Second question: If I didn't get a mid pipe and got a CATTED downpipe instead, would that increase the noise/improve the sound?

Thanks everyone! Any help would be awesome!

Do you have the N20 or the N26? Getting an aftermarket mid pipe will help the N26 more by eliminating its second catalytic converter. Probably wouldn't make much of a difference on an N20. If you have an N20, you'd probably benefit more (in power and sound) from a downpipe with a high flow cat.

I've got an N20. So you definitely think that a DP would be the better option? Any recommendations?

I don't have any direct experience with an aftermarket DP. I only know that I was planning on going with an Evolution Racewerks catted downpipe for my N26. They make one for the N20 as well.

I have a similar set-up. Expect 15-20% increase in noise with a catted DP.

You'll hear the turbo quite a bit more also.

Coincidentally, I have new in box catted Wagner DP for an N20 328 for sale if your interested

Thanks Davy, not sure how much it would end up costing me to get it shipped here to Australia haha. I'll definitely do a bit more research about catted downpipes!
