Why does the water pump activate even when the car is cold after locking the doors?

Hello friends, I hope you can guide me to find the problem!
Some time ago, the car did not start and I realized that the battery was completely dead! I replaced the battery and registered it. After 2 days, the battery was completely discharged again. No error codes found for low battery or anything related. I checked with ISTA+ and bimrmerlink.

By chance, I noticed the sound of the water pump after locking the doors! Apparently, it doesn't matter if the engine is cold or hot, this happens.

I changed the thermostat last year because I thought the engine was a bit hot. I will say that I have not received any errors or warnings for engine heat so far.

I open the negative terminal of the battery every night so that my battery does not discharge, I hope you can guide me.

I want to thank you in advance.

It's a known problem with some BMW's. You'll need to continue disconnecting your battery until you get the water pump replaced.

Thank you got your reply, are you certain that this is an issue from water pump? Could it be an issue with relay or from a sensor that is draining he battery?

It certainly could be. Find yourself a good indy mechanic to diagnose the problem correctly.
