My old e46 330i had the sport package but non-staggered wheels, and the handling was awesome--really neutral. Fat rear tires might look cool, but they add understeer and limit tire rotation options (especially with directional tires). My 335i has the staggered tires, and even with the traction/stability control completely off it's almost impossible to get the car to rotate in the dry--I would rather have all four tires be the same.

Great review, thanks!
Jason, could you elaborate on the ride quality on bad roads (compared to E90 you've had). If you had to rate them, and E90 being let's say 3/10 on ride quality on run flats on bad roads, would F30 be around 6-7/10 judging by your review? Or even better? Also, in which color did you think it looks best? Is Silver still nice for example, and is it close to monochrome TiAg or it has some shade to it? How did the dark color car look like - did it looks smaller and its lines were all hidden make it it look worse? just curious.

Great review and vids, I've been addicted to bimmerpost all week ( more so than usual)... I can't wait to drive the new 328i, it seems to be the shining star of the range. I'll have mine in M-Sport, alpine white on black with adaptive suspension.

C&d 335i test
Just saw that car and driver posted their 335i 6mt first drive online. They said they could only get 5.3s 0-60 time, which is slower than e90. Thoughts?

Jason do you know if the the cars that you have tested had lighting package? I saw this image and noticed that the 3 series have the same interior lighting in the doors as the f10 5 series which is awsome .

Someone will order this car with a manual transmission, but they really have to be shift for yourself die hard types who don't care about the hit on residual value.

Do you know if the lights are bright or soft? With m-sport i think you can choose white or red lights in instrument lighting, maybe it's the same in the doors.

Confirmed. If you search for "lighting" in the document link below, it shows that Ambiance lighting is standard on both 328i and 335i.

Very nice detailed writeup. Always liked seeing videos matched with words which are hard to really vizualize sometimes by themselves. Those laps by the BMW drivers were insane!

They also probably tested an n54 engine-which was way underrated and have no doubt the n55 will never be that underrated again |

I think BMW should really step up and bring a twin-turbo engine back...it's shameful how it's like 0.5 seconds slower to 62mph than the e90 335i. I'm sure the 335i vs S4 reviews will not give the 335i the winning trophy anymore. I won't buy a BMW with the N55 engine.
