I had 2007 335i coupe and a 2011 335i coupe, and test drove the F30 335i. The 2012 F30 335i definitely has a more "raspy" up front exhaust note. That off throttle crackle you hear in the F30 was not there in the E90/E92.

I have to concede, and i am here openly admitting that the new F30 automatic transmission is very very good... i would be proud to have that 8AT ! I have no doubt about all the qualities and benefits of it over the standard transmission.
but since i can still use my left leg, why stop

But i for one, just could NOT wait for either one of the F30/F31/F32, whichever comes first... Had to pull the trigger on the F30.

Guys, BMW always publishes the "humble" number. By the way, the N54 was tested by InsideLine and 0-60 in 4.8 sec with rollout.

Great vid.
335i remains the best non-M Bimmer by far.

Grey look way better than red... don't know why they pick red as a launch color. The front end of the F30 always remind me the Z4 which looked the best among all BMWs...

Aight party starts now: * pops open a beer * Can you tell us about how the non-xenons headlamps perform? What is the color temperature like? May me take some pics at night - that would be very helpful. I got xenons since it came standard with the 335i but I am wondering if its a waste of money for 328i for $900. |

BMW has always underrated their engines and been conservative about 0-60 times.
But with that said, the n55 is paired with a new 8 speed auto and also has less weight. So it's not that surprising that it's faster despite being the same engine. Hats off to BMW, can't wait to go and test it out. |

I own a 35i x3 it's 0-60 is 5.5 secs. I would believe that the 335i could read 0-60 secs in 4.7 since it's almost a 1000lbs lighter and lower thus reducing wind resistance.

That's amazing stuff. My z4m couldn't get that time, and it's only 3250 lbs, with supposedly 30 more hp than these engines. That's torque for ya!

Thanks, that's helpful. I guess I'll just have to do some good test driving and see how I feel about them. Fortunately the engine sound really makes no difference to me so I can take that out of the equation.
