When is the new engine coming out? Or will they just tune the n55 to 320-330?

Everyone knows these cars make tons of power simply by upping boost. Shame on BMW I they go that route... |

Only once or twice for testing purposes probably wont hurt.

Finally somebody pointed out! The N54 was stressed out over and over again for the last 5 years on dozen of tests, magazines, TV shows and they all agreed the 0-60 was on the high 4' (4.7, 4.8) So... what's the big deal of this news? |

So then the car doesn't really go 0-60 in 4.7... he simply manipulated it, in a manner which cannot be consistently recreated, to do so.
I just don't get it. I was hoping this would be the video to settle but alas, no. These car companies are either using roll outs or some strange launch control instead of just giving the consumer actual 0-60 times. Its as if they're trying to get the most controversial number, not the most accurate. |

The more I see the car in real life, the more I feel in love with it. Great car. Live long 3-series.

Now why did you go ahead and have to post that video… I had convinced myself that my E90 335 was just perfect, and I really didn't need an F 30 anytime soon.

I've been shopping used E92 335i's. The F30 put that on hold. Check the car out in person, the mags, videos,F30post does it no justice. The old saying...the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts have never been more true.

My tuned stage 3 N54 is smoother and feels way better than it ever felt new the day I picked up. In fact is so insanely powerful am not itching for anymore. That proves BMW can just keep upping the boost a little bit at a time and rebadging 340? 345? and charge more and more. I am now looking forward to seeing what they put out for the next M3\M4.

Some people are looking for arguments to unjustify the 4.7 accelleration time it seems. FIY German carmag Auto Motor und Sport did 0-100kmh(62mph) in 5.1 seconds(335i A sportline) If a E90/92 could do that, why not an F30? I know both the N54 and N55 by experience. Exactly. |

I've not read the whole thread so this has probably been answered 100 times already but Car & Driver posted 4.7 sec time for the N54 135i, think the 335i coupe was 0.2 secs slower (new model therefore at most 0.2 secs faster than the old). Always underrated by BMW. Most likely a 0.8 sec difference between the new 335i and 328i, not that great but it does matter to some
