These brakes produce n fold more brake dust than stock where n = a google.

Given that I am getting the M-Sport brakes in Canada, could I simply swap out the discs for the drilled discs? Are the discs for the M Performace brakes the same size as the M Sport brakes discs?

Yes, for a US/CDN-spec 335i w/2NH they're interchangeable.

That's great. ANyone know where I can buy just the discs? I know I can buy the rear discs as a standalone purchase, but the front discs appear to only come w/ the entire performance package. I presume I could just buy the singular parts from the dealership (but I would assume they would charge me a pretty penny for them).

Just order them as spare parts.

Did anybody with M-performance brakes ever experience/or are experiencing squeals/squeaks?

A lot of M-sport owners are reporting squealing/squeaking on stock brakes, especially between 10-0 mph.

M Performance Brakes Questions

Hi,
I'm new to the forum.

I recently had M-Performance brakes installed on my 2013 335i M-Sport line, and have a couple of questions:

1. When I picked up the car from the dealer after install, I found the brake pedal to be incredibly soft, and braking unresponsive. I almost had to pump the pedal. Braking was much worse than with the stock brakes, no bite at all. After dropping $3.3k on this "performance brakes" upgrade (parts & labor), I was extremely disappointed with the result and found it completely unacceptable. The dealer accepted to re-bleed the system, no questions asked. When he brought the car back, the mechanic told me he took great care to bleed the entire system, and that the feel on the pedal was now firm and good. I drove away, and found the pedal feel to be improved, but still not as firm as it should be in my opinion. I have now driven a few days and tested the brakes under various conditions, and they still feel soft to me, with no bite, and I have to depress the pedal hard to get decent braking response, and the pedal gives way more than I think it should. My son's Hyundai Elantra has a firmer pedal and better braking response!!! If anyone has upgraded to M-Performance brakes, I would be interested in hearing about your experience and your candid assessment of the level of braking performance achieved, relative to the stock set up.

2. I live in the Northeastern US and need snow wheels/tires. I read on several articles that 18" rims will clear the M-performance brakes. I ordered a set of TSW rims and blizzak tires. Before shipping, the outfit with which I ordered them, checked the fit on a 335i with the same brakes that they happened to have on hand, and could not fit them. The wheel spokes clear the calipers, no problem, but the rims are just a few mm too tight, radially. They now claim that I need 19" rims. Is it possible that some 18" rims may not fit around these calipers?

You need a DSC reprogram and brake pump activation. Maybe dealer forgot about it ?

Off...
unfortunately i'm not able to create a new topis that's why i'm asking here

so I just bought f30 in M pack with M brakes.
Wheels are 18 M Star-Spoke style 400.

and now I'm choosing for winter wheels
so would it be better to buy just tyres for stock wheels or another tyres with wheels for winter season? Talking about tyres with wheels I mean 17s wheels. Are they suitable with M brakes?

Thanks

Remmib, thank you. Do you know that OEM 18" f30 will fit from experience, or fact? If fact, can you please provide the source? Thanks again.

The dealer did perform a DSC reprogram. I don't know about the brake pump activation. Not sure what that does, or what the result is if it was not done. I will check with the dealer. Thanks.

I also have a set of stock Brakes (2013 M-Sport line) for sale, having upgraded to red M Performance brakes. I listed them on Craigslist and Justparts.com.
If you end up selling yours, I'd be interested to know how and for how much.

All the literature clearly states that M-Performance brakes require 18" rims or larger. Perhaps you are referring to M-Sports brakes, which may be smaller?

+1, 17" cannot fit into 2NH. Minimum 18" 400M.

In EU/ROW, 2NH is available on all M-sports regardless of whether it's 316d or 335i, & it can be ordered with the 18" 400M from factory.
