Thanks for the instructions. Unfortunately on the European F31 Sport you can't get your hand behind at all so I went the old school way with a set of snips to cut the tabs off the existing whiskers as wasn't planning on keeping or selling them.
Installed new black painted ones, eventually arrived from IND via a friend, (much cheaper shipping) and looks a lot better with black whiskers and a black grille on the front! |

Wow the 2017 is QUITE different. BMW always changing silly things in LCI.
Last night I decided to try my hand wrapping my whiskers in 3M matte black from a previous project. It went fine though it took me about 12" of vinyl wasted because of initial failure doing the wrap job. The angles are quite intense and since you need to wrap 3 sides (face, top, bottom) it gets a little... challenging. I focused on the "top" of the whisker and face. Bottom is acceptable but not as good as face/top, which is more important. The matte vinyl I used is not a very deep black considering it's matte, so it has a very very dark grey appearance. Not sure if I like it enough yet or not.

Same. Tried to get mine off of a 2016 340i. The clips are impossible to get out without breaking the tabs. Probably have to paint or plasidip them on the car.

Did you end up plastidipping whiskers while still on the car??? I’ve never used plastidip and already know it’s gonna be a PITA to remove the whiskers so I’d prefer to do it on the car as well. Wondering how to go about it.
