Cool video... Looks like the 328 really struggles to get past 200 km/h and the 335 keeps eagerly pulling. I would love to see a tuned 335 vs 328 comparison

I'm talking about car reviewers.

Reason of disapointment is because I cannot justify the price for such engine. I was never a 335 over 328 guy, but for F30, I would just drop a few options and get 335 for the money. Way I optioned my 335i 3 years ago now costs around $51k for 328i, of course there are some missing options but still, over $50k for this kind of car doesn't make sense to me. I have zero intention to offend any 328 owners by the way. |

This is why I was surprised. Everyone raved about it and some reviewers even said why go with 335 when 328 is this good. But, at least for me, 328 didn't live up to my expectations (of course it doesn't have to) and it really felt like a camry. |

You're quite right though - the logical choice was the 328i but I knew that I'd always be kicking myself and wishing I'd gone for the 335i, especially with my last 3 BMWs being sixes. The 328i just doesn't have it. |

From a bench/magazine racing standpoint, tuned F20 numbers are nearly mirrors of stock N55 numbers, i.e. high 4's to 60, mid 13's at about 105mph.

For many drivers in the "over 35 crowd" what likely matters is how smooth the acceleration is, not how loud the exhaust note is.They want the car to feel smooth and refined. For the die hard performance crowd, get the 135 Coupe or the M3. For drivers who want a nice smooth ride with with great safety ratings and technology, get the 328. That's why BMW makes different models. All of that aside, BMW is in the business to make money. If the 328 looked, sounded, and drove like a 335, no one would ever buy a 335. They have to leave enough space between the two for customers to justify buying the higher model.

I'd still opt for the I6 considering it has MUCH more potential. Especially if your going to spend the extra anyways. I think tuners will still be getting the 6 over the 4. The regular guy who's priorities aren't speed over comfort and havin a nice DD won't mind getting a 4. Just my $0.02 |

I wanted economy for my DD while still having the attributes of a BMW, the proverbial cake and eat it too concept. I had that with my CC, all be it in a mushy front wheel drive experience. I have a 500hp straight six at my beck and call for nice days. That is why the 335 does not really appeal for ME and my needs. If I did not have the E36/7 in the garage, well I would have not ordered a 4 cylinder 328.

Nice comparison, maybe someone can make a similar 335 vs 328 video for e90 cars to see how much the gap between the models has changed? I like the weight ad of the 328, yet i like the 335i sound and power |
