EDIT: F30 335i M Performance Exhaust vs Stock Exhaust - Video Clips

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I took some videos before and after I bolted on the M Performance. I used my Iphone5 so hope it came out ok. I pointed the speaker towards the exhaust for better sound.

EDIT: Here is the video after 1000 miles. Its "borken in". I think it sounds deeper, and it did get louder. I expected this reading up on past threads. I think its the perfect amount of exhaust noise and its not intrusive at all. If you get a killer deal on it I suggest get it.
Its a warm start, revs are up to 4k, golf tee mod done flap fully open. I started in comfort mode and switched to sport in the end of the video.

Nice comparison. Was it in sport plus? u will hear a big difference when u rev it and let go of the gas. Also I would wait till the flap is open on the other side.

Flap is always open now . And now that you mention it I forgot to put it into sport mode....Damn. Well at least its a general idea of the two vs each other.

did you do the mod to keep the flap open? did you notice a difference after doing it?

Yes I did the mod before I even bolted up the exhaust. I cant say what kind of difference it made because I never had the exhaust on the car while the valve was operationa. However I can say that I did the valve mod on my stock exhaust and it made it a little deeper. Not much but you will tell a slight difference.

Here check out my DIY.

I feel like it sounds so much better in person than the videos I've seen including my videos. I love how much louder the burble is when shifting
Gears.

It is way better in person. I have been driving it a lot to break in the muffler, and it just seems to be getting better with every mile.

In the stock video - is the valve open as well or is it just completely stock?

Thanks, I like the sound. Im relly getting into the BMW inline turbo thing. Im so use to owning Ford's my whole life.

As for selling are you talking about the M perf exhaust? Im sure when I trade the car in down the road Itll be up for sale. Stealership is not getting it thats for sure.

Nice video comparison.

Surprisingly the M Performance Exhaust sounds deeper and louder for sure. I'm saying "surprisingly" coz TBH I wasn't a huge fan of the M Perf Exhaust and was looking towards the Eisenmann.

Please post videos after the break in, hoping for an even more deeper burble!

I will no doubt, I was planning on it. I think having all 3 comparisons will help a lot of people decide if its for them or not. I wanted something louder but not annoying. I think the m performance was just that. As for performance increase if you're after that, I'd look elsewhere.

What did you do to modify it? I'm not necessarily agreeing or disagreeing with what you're saying. I wanted to retain my warranty and something subtle.

I agree $900 is a lot of money for 2 horsepower and louder sound. But this is what I wanted and I'm not after a premium exhaust just a little something that's louder.

If so, sounds way better in sport mode.

Sport mode or if you shift the shifter over into DS will cause the burble on up shifts...always a fun surprise on the highway!

Yes I switched to sport midway through, so people can see and hear the difference.

Yeah, I always try to do it even in normal driving lol. I think it sounds pretty decent. Is it going to make everyone want it or fall in love with the sound, no. But I have no regrets at all. Im not trying to have a crazy loud car thats annoying.
