Just checked under my seat and there is definitely rust. I see about 8 spots each about 1cm wide.

Looking at it makes me think of my car differently so I'm going to go to the dealer and see what they say.

I don't get the logic that if you own that car you're rich enough to think it's disposable in Korea. If you own an M6 here, it doesn't mean it's prudent to spray paint it and break in the windshield or that you could simply go out and afford to buy another M6.

Just for the heck of it, I checked out our 2 cars sitting in the garage.

My 2010 E90 MSport SA has no rust, but a few spots on the frame and motor housings show signs of oxidation. Not rust colored at all, just slight white-ish oxidation.

My wife's 2011 E91 Germany has no rust and shows no signs of anything negative.

Both seats have decals on them from Lear Corp.

Thats pretty sad that a brand nee car comes with rusted seats.
I predict many squeaks and rattles as the metal starts to degrade from the rust.
Ill make sure to check my fathers f10 for rust, since this seems to be a new issue.

It s a matter of principal as it always is. BMW go to great lengths advertising their vehicles as superior products. They should thus expect to be held to their own marketing standards and their historical reputation.

The fact that owners notice even what some may describe as a non issue (so far) is excellent and reminds the brand and the industry that the owner is not a blind to ANY quality issues. Yes, this is an issue that should be brought to the attention of dealerships and BMW. Not ignored lol. To those recommending igoring rust lol imagine what else will occur down the road if BMW quality assumes the customer wont complain or notice

On the other hand production run problems can occur these things happen. It is how the brand repairs the error and treats the customer. Extra candies for koreans

idiot? yeah hes an idiot, but this kind of exposure is great for others that are affected with the same problem. Hope the seats are the only things affected..

*going to garage to check mine*

on a side note, Koreans are notorious for being spoilt, expecting top customer service. For instance, Korea is the only country where Apple hands out refurbs due to too much complaints (they replace them with new ones). (yes, I'm of Korean origin)

But hey, he paid 70k+ for the car, he doesnt deserve rust. Period. Neither does anyone else

I guess it will be the same here, all these prices I told you are the old prices for the previous model...

That is the driver's side side vent. The trim just pops right off and you can snap a pic

I applaud the protestor. Sometimes it takes an over-the-top action to finally get a RE-action.
It's a huge statement that I'm sure BMW is freaking out about.

HOWEVER, I will say that I would never behave in such an over-the-top manner.
It's a bit nutty and not surprising that it happened in Asia.
