So the m-sport package for the 4 series will already be available right when it comes out? I thought usually the msport package comes out a few months after the official release like the f30 did.

To me 441M looks actually better than 442M... Why they don't make 441M in 19 inch?

I think i'm going to throw up when i see the pricing for the 435. The current 335is already start at a whopping 52k.

I assume the new top of the line 4 series coupe will start at around 55k? Which you can easily option to 65k?! That is insane money for an entry level luxury car.

Although I guess BMW slotted the 1 series underneath and moved the 4 series above the 3 seres.... so does that mean the 4 series holds the position the 6 series did 10 years ago?

///M for MONEY!
as much as i love bmw, i'll probably never buy another brand new one. their pricing for them are getting ridiculous. I'll wait in 2-3 years so they'll come more to reasonable price for a used one.

I'm still confused as to why we need a 3 series and 4 series and I really don't like the different lines. Ordering my current car was a breeze - I wanted heated seats, nav, and m-sport - done and done. When the F30 came out, for sh*ts and giggles I went to the website to check them out. Spent forever just looking at the comparison chart just to decipher what they meant by a modern line.

Can't say I agree with the direction the company is going in, but at the end of the day, I still enjoy being a BMW owner and would consider one before looking at another brand. It's an expensive addiction!
The cynic in me says implementing all these "lines" is just another ploy to make more money from their options.

If you want certain options you have to get certain lines and by getting a specific line you are probably getting 2 things you want and 4 things you don't.

And how many times have we added an option and seen the pop window that says "by adding X option you must also add Y option?"

I like what Audi does with Premium, Plus, and Prestige packages - at least they don't conflict with each other. I also like how Audi has a S-variant for every model. That's what BMW should do, instead of making M-Sport just a package (I don't compare Audi S-line to the BMW M3/M5/M6). Like, make a 435i M-Sport with the Luxury package which implies every available option.

I know those of us who frequent the forum can figure out what the lines mean - but if I was brand new to BMW I'd be like WTF.

This looks like a New York launch coming! Perfect place to release this car, BMW was pretty quite in Geneva.

441M and 397 look the best. Not sure if 18s will look right on this huge car.

All those rims suck. E92 had 225m and 313, both of which are still sick. Hopefully the oem 20" rims from the f30 fit

I stopped buying new BMW's when they stopped offering manual transmissions with their XDrives, starting with the F10. My last new BMW was and still is a fuly loaded E60 XDrive MSport 535 with a 6 speed manual. I may have to keep it indefinitely, as BMW has conciously decided to not develop a replacement. When the lease was up, the dealer told me that that BMW no longer produces XDrive with manuals in the 5 series and tried hard to convince me to purchase a new SDrive stick. I just purchased back my E60 and am happy I did. Therefore, I dont think that the XDrive exclusion for a manual tranny on the new 4 series is a typo.

the 1er will be a 4 door and hatchback while the 2er is the coupe, gran coupe version of the 1er. i dont think there will ever be a m1 like the supercar. Look for the i8 to be that. they will probably call it an ///Mi8

The reason I am thinking typo is on the F30, x drive with stick is only available in the 335. The above is the opposite and shows you can get it in the 428 but not the 435 which seems odd.

Chrome exterior trims

Can we choose chrome exterior design elements instead of shadowline/high-gross black even on M Sport line? Or should I order them in individual program?
Not everyone thinks black trim is sportier…

Will the steering be a bit heavier in 4 series?
Yest I returned the f30, almost new loaner and couldnt wait to get back in my 4 yr old e93

F30 is great in all other aspects, but the steering takes away all the BMW fun.

LED vs HID

I drove the R8 with LED for a couple weeks and the LED's were amazing. They are so bright and it looks sick from outside too. However, that was in Germany where the streets are unlit and dark. Here in LA i don't see the point of getting these, unless you have the $$$ and want it for style or whatever.
