Have you ever owned one? I never had until my current E93. It was truly a game changer. The top is only up when it is raining or less than 42 degrees outside.

With neck warmers, I can probably drive top down even when it's 50-55 F outside, which is pretty much 8 months in Boston. And, when the top is up and in bad weather, it doesn't have any disadvantages over the coupe except that the back seats are tighter, which I don't care, and higher weight would probably give more traction. Also the weight difference is more noticeable in NA Engines. With the turbo, the performance difference between vert and the coupe will be less significant.

Interesting point about the weight. I am very much looking forward to seeing the final weight of the M4 Convertible. My E93 M3 Convertible is way too heavy thanks to the hardtop. My older E46 M3 Convertible was so much lighter on its feet. Hopefully we'll see some decent weight reduction in the M4 Convertible. And one more note. I checked out the new trunk on the 428i convertible at the LA Auto Show and the trunk "roof up/down" feature with the top down worked VERY well. It really should have been built into the E93. If you already have an E93 convertible then you will love this new feature. It's a little "raw" in its design, as a lot of the parts are exposed, but it didn't bother me because it worked! Very nice to be able to get things out of the trunk without having to put the top up. I have Comfort Access and using the "trunk access" feature seems to work only half of the time so I gave up a long time ago! |

As an owner of a Z4 with heated seats, I welcome the neck warmer. One curious omission, though, is the addition of ventilated seats in addition to heated. Is this an option?
Driving my convertible here in the south, there are more times that the top is up because it's too hot out than because its too cold. |

Anyone know the situation with the new seats for the convertible? These pictures show the sport style seat in saddle brown but the configurator only shows it on sport/M sport line. Can anyone confirm?

As far as I've been able to find (looking at the Configurator for Germany and United Kingdom), Saddle Brown is NOT available anywhere in sport seats, only non-sport seats in Lines other than M Sport and Sport.

So SICK of the Line/Color-Combo restrictions! I should be able to get saddle leather with a Sport/M-Sport model!

Seen and test drove the car this week, it looks absolutely stunning, especially with top down. Even with top up I think the roofline is much better than the E93s.
The roof is also better isolated so you really don't feel like driving a hardtop convertible but really more like a Coupe. The new sport seats are great too (only problem for a bigger person might be that the headrests are less adjustable). I immediately fell in love with the EBII M Sport when I saw it. What a shame that we can't have Silverstone Interior, would look even better. I think I'll order one, unfortunately I will have to stick to the 428i as the 35i will explode my budget (I like my cars "loaded"). |

It's interesting that the 4-series M-Sport has fog lamps whereas the 3-series did not.
