Hey David, I’ve just installed the m4 zcp seats on my m2, and currently getting the driver restraint malfunction

I tried searching for the code on bimmerlink, but the code doesn’t seem to show up there?

Do you by any chance know how to replace the airbag on the zcp seats? The two holes don’t let it separate like the regular m4 seats

Thanks mate

I just did a similar installation today, however it was M3 seats on to my F30. Specs were the same. so it was almost a direct plug and play...

everything worked until i noticed the driver seat height adjustment didn't do anything but make noise. turns out the motor mount was broken and i had to swap it over. but after plugging in everything and testings its functions. The seats all function fine, only to realized I lost my climate control, seat heater button, my TPM went off, car started idling weird (like misfiring) and got a bunch of malfunction code like chassis stability, SRS Airbag.

The m3 set of seats came from a wrecked car, the seat belt buckle did deploy but airbags did not (luckily). I swapped over my seat belt receiver and plugged it all up. Took me about 10 minutes to figure out why all the malfunctions, i looked on some forums and alot of people say you have to swap over everything including srs airbags which is incorrect. I ONLY SWAPPED OVER THE DRIVER SEAT CONTROL MODULE BOX (LARGE GREY/BLACK RECTANGULAR BOX) and everything went back to normal. NO SRS codes, no malfunctions no weird idles, and Climate control came back as well. I didnt even bother to disconnect the battery swapping over the box. It automatically cleared the fault codes.

So far i love the seats, Looks awesome and feels softer than my original dakota leather. Sadly i only installed 75% of them, i left the rear seat backs original because my passengers need that cup holder.. lol

You can use the original bmw quick coupler

Regarding the illuminated seat logos:

For the cable from X173*9B to X14*1B, do I need female MQS Fakra Pins on both sides or is the FEM side male?

Also, I don't understand the purpose of X719*1B. Can someone please explain?
I assumed that the ground connection of the illuminated logo already exists via the big yellow connector?!

Hey everyone, just did the swap before finding this thread so the airbag error light got triggered. After reading all this, I swapped both airbags and seat modules but the errors remained on both the driver and passenger sides. I disconnected the battery to try and clear them with no luck. Is there anything else I need to do or are the errors supposed clear themselves?

You will need to clear them out. Disconnect the battery won’t helps.

Do you know who might be able to do this for me besides the dealer? I tried some standard obd ii scanners but they couldn't clear them...

Thanks!

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread. But I am going to be installing m3 seats into my f31. The seats are manual, but could I just still plug them in? I am getting myself a bit confused with all these wiring diagrams. I need an idiots guide lol.

My f30 has electric seat but no heated or lumbar support.
I bought a pair of electric m3 seats with lumbar and wing support. How do I get lumbar support to work? Any help is appreciated.

Hypothetically, would you be able to swap out seats in one F32 to another without any issues? Has anyone done this?

I'm looking to swap out a black interior to a grey one, I haven't seen anything in my search. Help would greatly be appreciated

Yes, no reason this won't work. You'll need to code new airbags or you'll have a light on. Other option is to disconnect battery and swap original airbags and control modules as instructed above. I swapped m4 seats in my 435i without coding or issues

Thanks Jimmy, so just so I get this straight...disconnect the car battery, swap out the seats (is there a cable to disconnect under the seat), change some codes on bimmercode and there should be no problem...
