Lovely, not my type of thing but I do appreciate why people love them. Enjoy.

As for the Merc, could have bought and E63 and saved some cash

By the way, werent you the one telling us not to splash the cash as the economic end of the world was nigh and we should be careful...? Before you bought 4 cars..at a cost of a quarter of a million? Glad to see you heeding your own advice

A fabulous pair of cars, particularly the second one! I wonder what the Merc dealer thought when you arrived in your Up to look at a GTR!

Is the GTR not a little wide for you after your 8 Series experience?

Thanks JD.

The GT R isnt quite as big as the 8 series but it seems all the choices in this sector are bloated nowadays. Not a fan of the Aston and Portofino which are slightly smaller I believe. The other 2 options were the 992 Turbo S and the R8 but not sure I can bring myself to spending that sort of money on an Audi......... I guess you could say the same about Mercedes too though.

Nothing better than going in to the dealership with your old work clothes on and discussing parting with the wrong end of £150k...... not sure they saw the UP though as it was hidden behind some bloody great 'Merc Shed on Wheels'

This has actually been playing on my mind too over the past few days as I had a similar comment from a friend on Friday evening.

The GT R is more of a track foccused vehicle much in the same vein as the GT3 and I am now coming round to thinking something 'softer' may compliment the Caterham to a better degree.

No final order placed with Merc yet so I think I will give it some more thought, thank you

I think I read somewhere there is a new SL on the way which may give you more comfort and more suitable for road use. There were pics around somewhere in the ether

Cant say I have been keen on any of the SLs since the Bobby Ewing one, all a bit 'Fat Yank Housewife' for me

Been perusing the Roma online this afternoon, which might be a possibiliry. I might get myself down to Maranello some time this week to see if they have any in that I can nosey round.

Congrats Sennen

I remember us chatting about Caterhams over PM. Glad you've taken the plunge. Just wait until the summer - you'll love it!

If you have any questions, just PM me. And BTW, check the tyre pressures; it looks like you're running ZZS. With an SV you'll likely want to run 18-20psi cold. Caterham's are incredibly sensitive to tyre pressures, so ensure you're happy with them as it makes a massive difference.

Thanks Grant, yes I am running them at 18 cold, she is tucked up in the Garage now connected to a CTEK until the Spring. Hope I can wait that long

I run mine slightly less than that...but I have an S3 with lots of carbon (529kg with 3/4 tank fuel). Do play with the pressures; you'd be amazed at the difference 1-2psi make to the way the car feels.

Do you have a battery isolator?

I considered getting one fittted but i used to leave the Lotus on the KTEC for months at a time without any issues so I probably wont bother.

I am currently weighing up whether to get some Jenveys fitted over the winter peiod or go for the full monty and the Premier 265 upgarde..... a bit pricey though.

Ah Premier Power...I know Stuart well. His unit is just down the road from me.

Personally I'd have a year getting to know what you've got.
