F1 today
Was very boring....
Bottas destroyed again by Hamilton was the main highlight. Can't wait for Silverstone now!

A complete weekend of domination for Lewis and Vettel blew it really with the Q3 run on Saturday. Great weekend for the Mercedes cars who probably ran the engines and gearboxes turned down to conserve them.

I just don’t watch it anymore, it frustrates me how dull it has become and the commentators trying to inject a little enthusiasm into it is just futile and embarrassing.
The 90s were the pinnacle for me I’ll always remember that wet race in Suzuka (I think) Mansell vs Alesi in the wet unbelievable stuff and balls of steel, unfortunately it’s become more and more of a parade. Shame really as when I was a kid I was more interested in it than football Last edited by Broncho; 06-23-2019 at 01:14 PM.. |

Out this afternoon and have just watched the recording; suffice to say the Sky box spent a lot of time in fast forward, the race was as dull as dishwater IMO. The best driver in the best car makes for a very predictable outcome and for me even with more than half the season left both the drivers and constructors championships look a foregone conclusion.....

I really don't know what they can do to make it more watchable to be honest. Weight penalties for the winners? Just more artificial racing though.

It's a car park with some blue lines painted on it, it looks awful I can't believe that's the best track France has but it is what it is.
F1 races are often boring I think people forget that and just remember the corkers.

I like the track. The race wasn't processional because of the track, I think it's actually got some great looking corners and bends. I'd absolutely love to drive it on a track day.

I'm dismayed at the state of modern f1. I'm convinced the testing and development restrictions and lack of refueling are killing it. I remember when a team would roll out a b spec car to fix fundamental flaws in the original concept. Now cars roll out and by race 4, the season is set. the cars are too heavy and have too much down force, and often driven to a target time, not delivering 100% performance. as Nicky Lauder said, they need half the downforce and twice the power. I love f1, but I'm saddened to say that in it's current form, it will be resigned to the history books. I only pray that liberty will sort it out, but from looking st what they haven't achieved so far, I'm not hopeful. I did however watch the touring cars coverage on itv4 thecweekend before brilliant racing from all categories

On the plus side, practice 2 today is quite eventful.
Verstappen crash, red flag. Moments later, Bottas crash, red flag. Not long after, Vettel slides off backwards in the gravel and almost in the walls. There's still time left for more drama. Bring on more heat and less run offs

Well it was a hope rather than a statement of fact, really pleased he did it though.
