OBD RPM output

Hi guys is it possible to pick up a rpm signal, switched live and ground from the OBD port?

Yes, and speed as well. It's what add-on HUDs use for their data input.

No clue. I use it with my HUD, Foxwell 510 and E-Sys. They know which pins are which, so I don't have to.

Pin 9 is the right one.
Maybe you should look at this .

Edit:
OK, i just see this is actually the same, but from the other side.
In any case, the diesel should have a black wire on Pin 9.

For anybody who searches for similar I found a solution. Canm8 RPM module wired in to the FEM can bus to give RPM readings

Wau. Nice install! Clean! Wish there was a stealth tank for the 1-series. Rpm signal is on OBD pin9 for my F-series so I am using that.

You will not get an rpm feed from there mate that's what I tried first

But I do... Just set 3 pulses/rev and it reads correct. I have a problem with the MAP signal though, I cannot get it to read right. Its all over the place. Using TorquePro I see ~3-4psi when revving in neutral but I cannot get it to read that. Looking at the log I am thinking that there is some interference on the signal???

I used a stand-alone map sensor and took a feed from the inlet elbow

Ahhhhh ok. Yes mine is petrol. Rather strange that makes a difference on the OBD output. OK, I'll contact support regarding the MAP
