F30 320D Sport Air Intake
hi guys and girls. i am looking for a new air intake for my n47t engine 320d f30. i cant seem to find anywhere that does a decent one. i want to see what ones will fit this engine as all the ones i have seen have been for petrol f30s. kies motorsport does some and was wondering if these would fit my car.
any help? thanks in advance Last edited by Jawnez123; 09-07-2019 at 06:46 PM.. |

What are you trying to achieve ?
Turbo diesels work on the principle of a continuous over-supply of air : a sports intake isn't going to substantially increase airflow or volume and therefore won't make muck of s difference to performance. The OEM intake and filter can cope just fine. Oiled panel filters can cause more problems than they're worth. My 30d is remapped substantially above the stock output, and the OEM filter is not restricting it. The turbo is most likely at the top of its ability. If you're looking for aesthetics, that's a different matter.

its mainly for sound and looks not for any increase in power. i just want my engine bay to both look better and sound a little better than it does. i have had a single flex exhaust system put in but there isnt much sound increase at all and doesnt roar like a petrol would with the same system put in

already have a custom exhaust but its a diesel and doesn't make much difference without wiping out the dpf completely.
this will make my car have huge amounts of black smoke come out the exhaust which i dont really want happening |
